Barega and Kejelcha would have been right around 13:00 if they didn't trip each other
Kejelcha grabbed Barega´s clothes.

Based on the comments here, I'm excited to see some video of this mishap.
Leader to leader was 1:56.36 for the final 800m, not sure on Balew's splits
MY SIDES! ? ? ?

What a final kilometer!
Balew 13:01.09
Barega 13:02.67
Hadis 13:03.62
Final kilometer was well under 2:30
What are the chances Barega is DQd? I could not see what caused the fall.
What happened the last 200...?
I would have grabbed his shorts too. Barega looked way to close to Kejelcha's heels

And they're fighting at the finish line now!
I would pay to watch skinny distance runners fight each other.

DQ for Barega since he caused the trip/close pantsing situation?
Not sure how it started but Kajelcha definitely grabbed Barega and tried to tackle him as he went down. The announcers were making up BS that it might have been an attempt to stay upright but there's now way. Kajelcha was definitely trying to pull him down with him.

owever, the rabbit ran his second lap in 63.9. Can someone tell us again how they get such horrible rabbits in race after race? 4:10 1st 1600
Put me in charge of the rabbits. I'll plant myself 200 meters into the race, Jonatahn Gault 100 meters into the race and Wejo at the 300 meter mark. Trust me, they'll get the pace right. Honestly, I'd re-start the race if the first 200 was off.
You guys are ruining racing. I despise rabbited races. In fact, why do they even call it a race. It's no more a race than the sub 2:00 fiasco was.
Rabbits are why the average person doesn't like Track any more.
The only good races in the past 10 years have been the championship ones - with no rabbits.
Ban the rabbits. Ban the rabbits. Ban the rabbits!!! (this must be said in Elmer Fudd's voice for full effect) Ban the wabbits!!! (Preferably withRide of the Valkyries playing in the backround). Ban the WAAA-Bits!!! Please!!
silly behyavior !
maybe these kenyans actualyl are 16!!!!
VIDEO PLEASE
That would have been a monstrous last lap for Barega... As it was it was 55.24 but Kejelcha was really moving. It might have been 53!!!!! at the end of a sub 13 race!!!!!! Kejelcha is in incredible shape.

Yeah, but he punches like a girl
At about 150 to go Barega seemed to trip forward, and as he fell into lane two he reached out and grabbed the shorts of the other guy, breaking his stride and slowing him down for sure.
Races like this are the reason why the general public is more interested in ultra racing.
to those wondering why official splits say 61 but 400 was in sub-60, it's because the official splits are being given to the finish line, which means they're ignoring the first 200m. so you can see that they mustve hit 200 in 28 or so

Kejelcha had the lead, was trying to protect his spot, got tangled with Barega, grabbed onto Barega's shorts, their entanglement interfered with others as the race was really starting to heat up.
Someone give these guys a geography lesson. Samba is not Mauritian but Mauritanian. Those are two different African countries on different sides of the continent.

The announcers were calling it how they saw it without a replay. That is exactly what I thought as it happened. Once they showed the replay though it was apparent that Kajelcha was going down and grabbed Barega's shorts to stay upright. I still could not see what caused the initial issue though.
