Any word on where Almaz Ayana has been this season? Is she running a DL or marathon any time soon?

who cares?
Sophia Ayana is 10x better
I'm literally a big fan of Ayana. She is my favorite runner girl(sorry girls of letsrun). She is literally the female version of Bekele. I can't wait to see her get the 5k wr. She can run a 2:15 marathon and get the WR. We have a lot more to see of her. I wish she raced more often.

Same. I've won so many wagers on her. But frustrating as a fan. She raced only a few times last year and none this year, as far as a I know. After that half marathon win late in 2017 I assumed we'd see her at that distance at least a couple of times in 2018.
A knee injury was reported on her twitter about a month ago, but no timetable and no subsequent information

I requested information from her management team Global Sports Communication via Email last month. I received a Reply from a senior female representative which I will copy below...........
Thanks for your email! Unfortunately, Almaz has a knee injury and she is working hard to get fit again as soon as possible.
She might decide to change to the road race / marathon, since she enjoyed this a lot doing the Delhi Half Marathon last year November.
Her running style might also be a better fit for the real long distance running.
She is one of the sweetest, kindest and hardworking athletes I know; thanks for your interest in her!
