One of the more interesting things at this meet is Rai Benjamin ducking a possible matchup vs Abderrahman Samba and Karsten Warholm in the 400m hurdles.
Benjamin is in the 200 while Samba and Warholm are in the 400 hurdles.
Curious if you all see this as a business decision for Benjamin or he's afraid to get beat in his first big European race?
Also I'm looking forward to women's 800. Semenya vs Wilson -
Weird lineup. No race over 1500 for men? No flat race over 800 for ladies?

Yes. I found that very bothersome. Even in our sport we distance fans are becoming marginalized. -
SAMBAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!

He makes it look so easy. Did it seem like he eased up right at the finish? -

Better not have done. I'd get 8x points for him as my fantasy dl captain if he broke the WR -
That was great.

Also if Rai Benjamin isn't going to race them I was glad to Samba get the WL back. Huge PB. -
What a pleasant surprise, to hear the announcer (Tim H?) say, "it looks like they are going with the pacemakers."

It’s pretty common for athletes to focus on an off distance after a big breakthrough. Why do you think we didn’t see Wayde Van Niekerk try and break his record last year or Bolt seriously chase sub 19 until it was too late. I’m sure Benjamin and his group know the record is his to take and are hoping to set him up for something even bigger. Imagine if he’d lost to Samba today, 46.5 wouldn’t even be a thought, he might’ve ended up running 47.3 or something today. It’s about making sure you don’t get to settled in your own shortcomings. -
What I don't understand is why Ruth Jebet's ridiculous WR still stands after she tested for EPO

Samba has a better chance at the WR in my opinion.
The 200m at this point in the season is a total waste of time. WVN was not in shape to break his WR last year. Bolt didn't try for sub 19 because he faced injury problems and focused on running his best at the big competitions.
If Benjamin backs himself on the world stage against the best he should have run in the 400h today. -
Wow. Fourth Kenyan is 9:04.
Chepkoech 8:59.36
Chespol 9:01.82
Kiyeng 9:03.86
Jeruto 9:04.17 -
Sub 47 in 400 hurdles and now sub 9 in women's steeple.
What a start to this meet:

19.83 for Norman and Rai Benjamin breaks 20 also, 19.99!
-
19.84 into a headwind.
And Benjamin with an impressive 19.99. He justified skipping the 400 hurdles although I'd rather have seen him in that race.

3:29 Cheryuoit
Best DL meet ever. -
Wow Norman runs 19.83 and Rai Benjamin runs 19.99. And into a 0.6 m/s headwind!! Norman can run 19.4-19.6 next week when he races Noah Lyles!!! If he gets a 1.5-2 m/s tailwind I think he can run 19.4-19.5. Norman is a beast!

Looks like the Ingebrigtsen Dad is doing a good coaching job this year.
Not bad for Filip 3.32.87 on his first real race this year.
