At the end of the track season, I sought explanation for why I wasn't entered in the conference meet.
I met with my event coach about this, and the second I walked in coach attacked me. They threw some slander my way, and made what should have been a conversation, into coach just railing me the whole time. I was upset by coaches accusatory/confrontational words.
I did challenge their conference decision-I was wrong to do so! But getting attacked the second I walked in set me off-I let it get the best of me.
A few days later I met with coach about summer training (a productive civil meeting), and have been training for over a month now. This past week, coach asked me to meet in their office to 'chat.' This 'chatroom' consisted of me, coach, and the head track and field coach.
During this meeting head coach accused me of being extremely rude to their event coach during the conference meeting. Head coach however, had no idea just what event coach said to me in this conference meeting. I explained to head coach that I felt confronted by event coach as soon as the previous conversation started. I told head coach some of the unprofessional things event coach said to me. Head coach goes "Event coach, did you really say that?" Event coach looks up and says "I never said that."
Event coach denied saying those things in front of me and head coach! LIAR! Holy crap every ounce of me just wanted to get up and call em a liar. I am guessing head coach will take event coaches lying words over mine.
To head coach, I seem like the bad guy. But if they had been there for the conference meeting they would have heard what was said to me.
I am wondering if they teamed up on me before I arrived? They were sort of talking themselves in circles (meeting went on for 1.5hours!) It seemed like they wanted me to quit. They asked me several times if I even wanted to continue.
Basically event coach tattled to head coach about me behaving inappropriately, and then lied about the bad things they said to me, in front of me!
I am wondering if anyone has experienced this type of thing on a D1 distance team?
