Wasn't there a thread a few days ago claiming Halter's firing that was removed because it was supposedly untrue? Is this just a coincidence or was there truth to the said removed thread?
If somebody says to another person "you people" and those people constantly refer to themselves and others of the same race as "my people", is that racist?
Not saying that BH is right or wrong, or that the situation is real or not. Just asking.
It is impossible to comment without the facts.
Certain allegations make the head coach appear as if he wasn't a very good manager or leader. The grass seed allegation is ridiculous if it is true - and if true reflects poor judgment - not sure about racial discrimination. And this is the kind of poor judgment that can cause the loss of a job.
I don't like that the plaintiff is claiming constructive discharge. Yes, it is recognized under the law, but resigning and the later claiming constructive discharge makes for a difficult case to win.
Track coaches are generally dispensable at Div.1 athletic powerhouses. I don't understand why anyone misbehaves. One is more likely to get fired for poor behavior than for incompetence.
better written story, than the tabloid style of KMIZ, that what you get when the reported went from cover Justin Beiber and Kardashians

well........when it's used as part of the sentence 'you people won't be coming around my place because if the KKK' then , yeah it's a little concerning.
yeah using 'you people' to refer to a racial group is racist, but it's usually the part that follows "you people...." that is the damning, fireable offense part.
did you not read the whole article?
LRC's crack investigative team LOVES asking the uncomfortable questions so I'm sure we will be seeing them ask Karissa Schweizer about this very soon. I mean they were asking Prouse about Metcalf and she wasn't even at Washington anymore Absolutely no reason comes to mind why they wouldn't pursue this, right ?

Constructive Discharge is the Missouri way. Just ask anyone who has worked there.

'you people won't be coming around my place because if the KKK'
When in doubt, inject the KKK

Why make it awkward for her, she is obviously going to defend her HC, mostly because her direct coach is buddy buddy with him and Burns doesn't want o lose his job either

Would be interesting to hear from the other former coaches of color that were at Mizzou, to see if they had similar experiences, if so there could be more lawsuits coming

I'm a little confused , what are you trying to say?

That's an ironic question. Not a semblance of the KKK in the story, or the original question... but somehow, it made it into your post. So.....

So you're saying this insinuation went over your head?
"Also around this time, Halter asked if I would go to his house and lay grass seed. When I declined, Halter responded, 'I live at MKT and Katy Trail and if I have one more K, you sure won't be coming because three Ks in a row, there won't be any of you coming."

So, Brett Halter invokes the KKK? Right. It's easy to say somebody said something. Again, when in doubt, yell KKK.

wow, you sure you want to double down on stupid? Coulda just admitted you dind't read/understand the article before weighing in, but no, you couldn't ever be wrong could you?
you said: "Not a semblance of the KKK in the story"
I ask again, did you not understand the inference? Or did you just chime in on an article with your preconceived viewpoint after only skimming a few lines? Who needs facts, right?
Instead of just admitting you missed the reference to the KKK in the article, you just keep going. An unreality bubble must take a lot of effort. Is this how you watch the news?
Initially you were claiming there was no reference to the KKK in the article. That was shown to be blatantly wrong.
Now, I'm assuming you are simply saying that it's all a lie, that the quote was made up. Is that based on anything at all, or just because it doesn't align with your viewpoint?
Regardless of the outcome of employment for this Head Coach , this can't be good for a university that was just in the national spotlight for Racial Issues and
All of those references are only relevant if you think this allegation is frivolous and comical.
So do you think a Head Coach invoking the name of the KKK to one of his black assistant coaches is frivolous and comical?
If not, then there is a complete disconnect between your post and the topic of the thread.
I mean you are inferring that being upset about the HC insinuating to his black assistant coach that he wouldn't be comfortable visiting the HC's home because of the KKK , is on the level of absurdity of allowing Kangaroos in the long jump.
Do you not find the alleged quote by the HC upsetting?
Why would Halter replace the sprints coach, who he supposedly had problems with regarding to his race, with another African American? Come on guys, this former coach is just trying to take advantage of the racial tensions at the university and make money.
