This is a elite track & field site about athletes who train so hard, they don’t have time to document it all. Their world champ medals speak for themselves.

You have no idea what you´re talking about. While it´s true that Kenyans train at altitude, they don´t do huge climbs on a daily basis. How often do Kipchoge do this in training?

Your butt hurts so much you can barely sit down because track is rapidly becoming irrelevant in the general public´s eyes. I predict that it won´t take long before we have zero distances longer than 1500 in the Olympics. Watching people running laps on a track is as exciting as snooker or trap shooting.

By “you people” are you actually referring to yourself? You have posted more to this thread than anyone besides me and I am the OP. It seems like if the Brojos did a piece titled: “Jim Walmsley - hobbyjogger or “Ultra” talent?” where they offered their two cents on Walmsley, you would be among the first to read it.

I think a lot of people would read it. They could interview Walmsley and he could weigh in on how he thinks he stacks up against the road elites. They could interview the NAZ road guys that he trains with to gain insight on their perspective. They could talk to his former college coaches and teammates about how he did on track workout days. They could give examples of some of the more “road-type” workouts that he does. They could dissect his road goals and future race plans. They could speculate about how well he could potentially do at the trials.

If this article were published, it would be a huge success. Even if most people here view Walmsley as a hobbyhogger, they would read it. If/when Walmsley shows up at the Trials, he will be the biggest story there. He is already the biggest draw on the boards. This thread only further proves that fact. The Brojos should get ahead the game and try to generate some buzz for the sport by taking advantage of this.

I actually agree with you. That doesn’t really change my point that Walmsley is generating lots of buzz and the Brojos should “cash in” on it.

Mayweather vs McGregor was a huge success.
