Oh yes, and he also ran the Chicago Marathon in 2:19:12. Someone here said he would run 2:19 while the others ridiculed. Who was that great sage? Oh yeah, it was me.
I was off by less than half a second per mile.
Hey Knower,
How about the next Super Lotto numbers!!
Can't do that. Picking Lotto numbers is luck.
I picked Aish's time based on his ability, his experience, and a whole host of other criteria.
Bottom line is I was right, and everyone else was wrong. It's a burden I have. It is very frustrating having no peers; no one to share in intellectual discussion.
Oh geez, don't be a dick!
K@,
All just in fun my friend.
No problem, but how about a guess on the lottery numbers!!
Knower,
Dude your a dick about this. Yes you were right back in Oct. But that e-mail you sent you said you were going to let this go. Quit stroking your ego, no one cares.

Thomas,
I only responded for fun. Aish doesn't come up often, and my bragging wasn't directed at you. You were actually civil during that long ago Aish thread, so don't think I'm attacking you in any way.
I really don't care about Aish's performance at Chicago at this point. Can't a man have a little fun here?
Anyway, it is unlikely you will hear from me often; just perhaps once in a while is Aish comes up.
Knower,
All I can say is fair enough. I wonder if Aish will take on a role like Grahm Hood(Canadan and former Razor Back)doing rabiting jobs for the 5 and 10 over in Europe. I will be intersted to see if Aish can drop another 45 secs or so in the 10 because thats what its going to take.
Knower or any one else do you see Aish's future on the track or in the Marathon. Personaly, I think the marathon is his game. Now can he win Chicago or London, no. But there are only a hand full of guys that can take those races. However only time will tell.

Thomas,
Aish is in a difficult position as far as being one of the world's elite in my opinion. His 28:00 10,000 PR is solid, but he is still aways from the 27:11 that Meb set, and we don't even talk about Meb as an upper eschelon world class athlete - and yes I know that Aish is from Australia; just using Meb as an example. Anyway, I'm done with this now.

It seems to me knower doesn't knower much! For the record Meb ran 27:13 and not 27:11, and Aish is a Kiwi and not from Australlia. Granted that still doesn't change the fact that Aish is still 57 seconds behind him, He has made some hugh strides already this year. That brings up andother good question for you Knower, How many times have you hit a world standard, been to the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, World Cross COuntry Championships, or gotten signed by Nike? If you have done any of these then please let us all know. Or we can make it easier, how many times have you been All-American or run the fastest time in either D1 or DII, How many times have you won a state championship, or been All State? Fill us in on some of your accomplishments since you LOVE to diminish the accomplishments of others.
Uh, mathematician... wouldn't that be 47-seconds slower? So, I guess that it is not a "fact" as you claim for him to be 57-seconds behind.
Let us know some of your accomplishments in the classroom. Let me guess, you're a D-II'er? :)
You are right on both counts. Aish is from New Zealand and Meb ran 27:13, not 27:11.
As far as the other points I made though, all I have to say there is that some of you people are way too sensitive. I never slammed either of these two very fine runners. I have no problem in calling Meb world class, but my point is that hardly anyone ever calls him that, and Aish isn't even near as good as Meb. Aish isn't currently world class at any distance. He's good. He's very good, but the times speak for themselves. He isn't yet world class. Perhaps he will be someday, but he's not now. Just running in the Olympics doesn't make one world class, and your argument to me that I haven't done the things that Aish has done is ridiculous. Of course I'm not as fast as he is. Neither are most runners. Is being faster than me the definition of world class? Do I have to call him world class if he is faster than me? I sure hope not or there are a hell of a lot of world class runners out there.
You did well with finding the errors in my last post. You did equally bad in making an argument that Aish should be considered world class because he is faster than me.
I have tired of this discussion and this username. I leave now.
Hey,
Knower didn't bash Aish. I mean its fair to call Aish a B list runner. As for being able to have an opion on this i can not see what ones own ability has to do with it.
Correction please, you are the only one diminishing here.
Peole get to worked up over silly stuff like Michael Aish. Everyone needs to relax.

What did Meb run for 5,000m last year? 13:21? What did aish run for 5,000m last year? 13:22?
I see that the date on aish's 10,000m time was mid Jan, isn't Gunnison in the mountains of colorado? did he do any track work before the race or was it just off strenght? if so I'd like to see what he does this year over the distance. he may just cut into that 47 sec?
Does knower = Flagpole Willy?
Is Mike Aish related to Andrew Aish, from England? Because we once had an exchange student from England named Andrew Aish. It was like 8 years ago, though... funny funny guy...
