Brenda Martinez falling all over the track as usual.

I’d like to have seen Brenda kick that last 300. Damn shame she got stepped on. With her 800 speed I think she had a chance.
Houlihan is a boss. Legit gold medal threat for 2020.

Looks like Brenda twisted her ankle when the incident occurred. They just she is "going off on the cart."
She had a bunch of encounters during the race - one bump too far.

Confirmed she's running the 5K too. Pumped to see how that plays out
True, but in this one it looked like she got clipped from behind.

Kate Grace is BACK baby! Best race since joining that bowerman group.
Grace struggled to adjust to the higher mileage and intensity with BTC but they’ve backed-off a bit for this and she’s starting to see the results.
Hot take in the 1500: McGorty will be last. He’s a great runner but lacks the finishing speed in a 1500. Similar to Evan Jager. Can run a fast time but doesn’t have a gear-shifting kick. He’ll fit in well at BTC.
Houlihan closed in 57 mid. Nice.
And coburn and Frerichs closing in 2:11 high to 2:12. Nice.
If you area coach of a runner in a race with Martinez best advice you can give her is to make sure you are nowhere near Martinez in the last 250m
Shelby Houlihan vs. Marielle Hall in the 5k. Should be one of the best American 5Ks in quite a while.
NBC throwing this TV-quality sprint minidoc at us as a little bonus

Agree. Just going to take this opportunity to brag a little: I had them picked 1-2 in my predictions BEFORE the championships started. Feeling pretty good about those picks right now. Granted, quite a few other probably did the same.

Yes, I enjoyed that! NBC has been on point so far. Whiners be damned. There was nothing wrong with the steeple coverage other than the slight delay in telling us the third place finisher.

I'm a big fan of Marielle but she doesn't have the closing speed to deal with Shelby just like she didn't against Molly. I'm hoping she will get there eventually.

Throw Schweizer in there as well. Is Huddle doubling back?
Houlihan will break the American record this year. In the 5 and 15.
Wimbley broke 50 for the first time and she smashed it -- 49.5 and it was no contest.

Houlihan owns Jenny.
I'm very happy to see that.
Did the NBC gold announcer just talk about wind direction having an effect on the men's shot?
Stands are empty. Not a good look for a national broadcast. Makes me wonder what incentive broadcasters will have to take on future events. USATF must figure out a way to make T&F compelling or we will simply be left with watching championship events on fl@track.
