Well I've no idea if the Chinese are able yet to edit genes to the extent that the could insert this 'sprinting gene' into their athletes, but I'm sure when they can they will (unless there is a test for it).
Actually I think if it is as simple as one gene being responsible for such a tiny percentage of the world's population making the sub 10 second sprinters then there is an argument to be made that every athlete should be allowed (when science enables it) to share that gene in order to level the playing field.
Unfortunately, contrary to the wishes of many here, it seems there is not one gene or even a collection of genes that is rEsPOnsible for East African distance success.
