You looked over a lot of important facts regarding the relationship be Oiselle and Tori.
When Tori broke the AR, they gave her a bonus for her achievement. Something they didn't have to do, because it wasn't in her contract, plus they are very small, limited company.
Now, after Oiselle gave Tori the bonus, she came to them stating that she wanted to not only terminate her contract, but she wanted to keep the bonus as well. Oiselle understood the situation, and, if I'm not mistaken, based on the article, they were willing to split the difference between what she was making with them and what Nike offered her. Tori declined, so Oiselle told her that they would let her out of her contract to join Nike, but only after USAs. I think she had 5 months left on her contract, so Oiselle didn't force her to finish the duration of the contract. She declined to do that, which was not only appalling, but unprofessional.
That's proof that Nike was forcing the situation, and not only forcing the situation, but probably put forth an ultimatum for her to get out of her contract ASAP. So not only is that tampering, but couldn't that be seen as intimidation?
Tori is not wrong wanting out of her contract, but the fact that she couldn't wait until after USAs, and she wasn't willing to accommodate Oiselle, especially after they acknowledged her when other companies disregarded her, is just down right immoral.
Hell, before the Oiselle contract she had nothing. They were paying for her traveling expenses and she was getting free apparel. That is a solid deal for someone who wasn't highly ranked at the time the contract was given. Distance runners would be more than thankful for a deal like that. Plus that is what Oiselle do for athletes. They are a small company, and they don't generate a lot of revenue, but they give something to sub-elite athletes so the athletes can make a name for themselves.
