I know I'm dreaming, but I hope they hire two people: Wheating and Vig. With that combo, every young runner from 800m to 5K will want to go to Oregon.

What about Rob Conner or Pat Tyson?
I would be highly surprised if either of those things happened. In fact, I'd be shocked if either of them didn't retire as coaches of their current respective schools.
Tyson only has a few years left, most likely. While he has UO roots, he would not thrive in that setting as it currently exists. He's far too easygoing. That's not a bad thing, but it wouldn't fly at Oregon.
And RC has no reason to leave UP. Family, lifestyle, etc. Plus, he's made his living on developing athletes and teams, not on buying them. He's done it all without a track to train on, not a world-class "Palace." He's a man of ideals, and going to Oregon would be a violation of what he believes in.
How many of you remember that Pat Tyson was actually the distance coach for a short while at Oregon, after the Martin Smith fiasco?
So far I think everyone’s name has been dropped but Elvis, Jimmy Hoffa, Curt Cobain & Tupac.

Andrew Wheating and Alex Kosinski give you the male/female combo that every HS boy & girl would want to come run for.

Another reason for Vanhoy is that his partner is Michelle Chewens, the assistant track coach for women's distance and head women's cross country coach at Wake Forest.
The two of them would be the best candidates for the men and women's distance/cross positions, especially considering that they are in a relationship.
Seeming as two coaches left, is the school looking at bringing in two coaches? If so that changes things slightly.
Hot news ! They are bringing in Coach JS !!!

Chewens couldn't coach her way out of a paper bag. She's useless.
Guarantee Patrick Wales-Dinan makes it farther in this process than he should. Guy knows how to fall upwards like no one's business.

How is she horrible? She's only been at Wake for two years. Last year turned an underperforming Ellie Abrahamson to an All American and this year got a freshman to nationals. Seems like decent work to me

Why is it that whenever a coach is defended, all the trolls assume it's that coach defending themselves? This is why this site is bull$hit
Ok so just looked at Wake forest performance list for 2018 outdoor season. They only had ONE 800m runner run under 2:15(2:10) their next best girl was a 2:19!!!!! They had ZERO girls run under 4:30!!! And their season best 5k runner was a 16:20. Their are small mid-majors in this country.. hell in North Carolina who are getting it done much better than this! Didn’t know the coach before this thread but yeah she’s not doing so well.
Is Wake Forest a huge university?

Because that's what trolls do.

No. It is a highly respected research university and difficult to get in. Being private you will need to find some $$ as it isn't cheap.
