And at 1:00 he talks about going after Yuki. If this is a budding rivalry, I'm most definitely here for it.
It would be fun to watch Walms vs Yuki at Comrades
who?
He will run some really fast training runs and choke during the actual race.
They’re so full of it. Talk the talk but can’t walk the walk.

Out of curiosity, what sort of time would make your average anti-ultra LRC'er say, "wow, I guess he really can walk the walk"?
These guys love to talk but always seem to blow up when it counts. Jim never races any world championships for this reason. He also is disrespecting Yuki by even mentioning him. Jim can't even come close to him in a marathon nor anything 50k to 100k. These guys need to stop letting myke hype them up because their ego is showing without any true accomplishments

A finish at WS.
Walms realizes what most knowledgeable analysts do - the marathon in the USA is Rupp and a bunch of 2:14 guys. I’d like to see Walms tempo a 2:12 in a mid -major to qualify for the OTs. Then go for it at the trials, where his Kamikaze style will make it hard to beat him.
This might be Sage's opportunity to laugh up his sleeve.
Is this gonna be like the time Matt Carpenter came down from the mountain with his WR V02max and scurried right back up?
Walmsley would trounce Yuki..

Walmsley would even break 2:15 on a perfect day. He's just not talented enough, just like the other ultra guys.
Exactly. Walmsley would be very hard-pressed to break 2:15 on the best day of his life. He's a god among ultramarathoners, but among the real deal runners, he's just not that good.

I dunno people tend to forget the Walmsley did have some speed. I know he's not in 4:04 mile shape now but he definitely has talent.
I think the general consensus for breaking 2:18 on this website for shorter distances was 4:00-ish 1500, 8:30-ish 3000 and 14:40-ish 5000.
Jim has run well below those times and clearly has a knack for longer distances. I think he could get under 2:18 and probably 2:15 if he trained for it.
He's known for talking big... let's see the facts. If he fails at WS for third straight time he'd better hide under a rock.

Lol excuse me. If we're being pedantic, I meant a finish up to his potential, not record-setting* 93 miles followed by a 7 mile stroll.
*not actually record-setting, cause he blew tf up
