They can get the Tyson chicken meet on TV and not the nationals is just nuts....What the hell is marketing doing?

actually the meet was on ESPN yesterday from 6-7:30 and today it is on at 1 on ESPN
ESPN2
Stupid me, as local paper lists nothing
The meet isn't on TV today. Just on the web. $10 may seem like a lot for a track meet on the web and I don't think I'm going to watch it, but streaming full quality video is super expensive. But I bet the decision to charge the $10 was led by USATF demanding some cash as up to this point i2sports has done everything for free.
Nope.
i2sports pushed for the pay-per-view as part of their business model. USATF merely gave the right to come into the arena and shoot the event. I can guarantee that i2sports did not pay a cent to USATF. I saw the head of 12sports at the meet and he volunteered this info.
So, ESPN shows some bowling every Sunday morning, but track only gets one day shown for it's national indoor championships? Bowling and fishing are more popular than track? It's pathetic.

Maybe. I find many runners have no interest in watching events on TV. Many Runners do their own thing and want to reach their own goals and not sit and watch a miler for instance.
Also, ESPN owns BASS (or at least part of it) so it is interested in showing fishing. I am betting that they are able to sell ad time for more money than ad time for track.
