Congratulations Sara Hall, indeed. I'm impressed.

I don't think Sara is a 2:21 runner. Ottawa is actually a pretty fair loop course (mostly flat, some gentle hills).

Still, wasn't the temperature in the high 50s working its way into the 60s? If that is the best that Ottawa can do in late May, that's too hot for a marathon.
Too hot for you maybe.
Okay.

Really you think she's capable of 2:21 on a certified legal course?
Cragg PRd by 6 mins this year. She ran 2;21 in Tokyo. Her best time before that was 2:27!
Cragg is 34, Hall is 35. Hall can definitely get 2:21 after running 2:26.

Great run by Hall. Another PR for her. And at age 35!
She’s getting pretty long in tooth. Wonder what her end game is. Must be hard to stay motivated especially after having adopted those kids. I’m guessing she makes a grab at one of the 3 2020 Olympic marathon slots and then calls it a career. She and Dathan both.
Wow, you're really making quite a prediction. Nobody would have thought of that before you. Thanks for opening our eyes to the obvious. Duh!!!!

I hope Burka can get an invitation to Berlin or Chicago and run sub 2:20.
Josh Cox pushed Burka's husband out of the way so he could be the first to hug her.
LOL!!!!!!!!!:):):):):):):):)!!!!!!!!
Big race for Sarah and Desi this spring. Both work with Josh Cox who once ran for the Rosa's. The Rosa's have had many high profile drug busts. In the last month USADA busted a former NAZ athlete. Mr. Cox also represents many NAZ athletes.
There are more connections that aren't associated with NOP that people don't like to admit.

Hall is far from being an Amy Cragg. Amy had an OT win, a top-10 Olympic finish and a WC medal before her "breakthrough" 2:21 race. Sara has never even been a factor on the national level, much less vying for medals at the top stage.
If Sara had been coached by Jerry since college, she might have had a shot at world class.

The difference between Cragg and Hall is that Cragg really never went for it recently on a fast course in a fast marathon until Tokyo this year. It was obvious that Cragg could run faster than her times at the Trials, Olympics, and World Champs, but championship-style marathons are not typically fast races. So Cragg's 2:27 marathon best was clearly not the fastest time she was capable of. She proved that in Tokyo.
On the other hand, Hall is incrementally improving her marathon on fast courses in fast marathons. From her Wikipedia page:
-Hall improved her marathon best with 2:30:06 on April 24, 2016, finishing 12th at the 2016 London Marathon.
-On February 26, 2017, Hall again improved her marathon best with a 2:28:26 sixth place performance at the 2017 Tokyo Marathon.
-On October 29, 2017, Hall again improved her marathon best with a 2:27:21 fifth place performance at the 2017 Mainova Frankfurt Marathon.
-On December 3, 2017, Hall won the Women's U.S. Marathon in California in 2:28:10.
And now a 2:26:20 on a flat and fast Ottawa course.
Suggesting that Hall could run a 2:21 in a Berlin-type race is a stretch, to say the least. That would put her on the level of Hasay, Flanagan, and Cragg. Hall has done nothing in her career to prove that she is at their level.
Regardless, entering the top 10 all time for US women marathoners is impressive and should be applauded. American women's marathoning is at a peak right now, while the men (outside of Rupp) have stagnated.
Her 1/2 marathon is just over 1 and 1/2 minutes behind Cragg. Her 5000 is within 6 seconds. With the right conditions on the right day, she is capable of a 2:22+, no doubt about it.
Have to consider her now one of the favorites to make the Olympic marathon
Which means that Hall has little hope of getting closer than three minutes to Cragg, likely eve slower, since Amy is better as the distance increases. 2:24 would be an amazing result for Hall.

I hope Burka gets in a fast race in the Fall as well as Vipam said she can go under 2:20, hopefully 2:17-2:18, she ran 2:20.45 in Dubai last year in fer Marathon Debut.
As for Cox pushing Burka's husband out of the way so he could hug her first, that is smart Geleta Burka is cute lol, I was just thinking if Burka gets divorced and marries me, her last name would be almost the same, it would still start with Burk and would just cange the a to an e lol. (Just being silly)

Burka ran 2:26 in Houston in 2014.
Sara ran very well under him, right?
