So the dude just ran a 8:12 or so. Why not just wear the VF 4%s? Those would have been good for about 20 seconds and put him well under 8. what am i missing?

You ever put your foot on a barrier and pushed off?

Umm...you realize it’s May and a non-championship year.
+1000
Get a grip everyone; the SMARTEST elite athletes take off years and do more volume, build more strength, don't mentally stress out about running (or not running) fast times. The wisest endurance athletes take the long view. Unlike the basement dwelling self-fondling trolls of LRC...

You are both clearly the OP, and wrong.
OP said that jager is the "ben true" of the steeplechase. Ben True has zero wc or olympic medals and zero times in the American top 10. So i would say that he objectively refuted that point. As to whether he is "done" he didn't seem to try to address.
You misunderstood.

Do you mean break 8:01?
Yes, I meant 8:01.

Silver medal before, bronze after. What a precipitous drop-off.
yeah I know he has gotten worse each year, thats why I said what I did
The guys ran 3:32 a couple years ago, he's faster at 1500 than everyone in the US besides Centro! The person who started this thread is a Complete IDIOT and has no facts behind the claim. Evan Jaeger would be what 6-7 years out of college had he gone more than one year, idiot!! All American Twice as a freshman, f..k off thread writer, you could not hold his JOCK you dumb ass!
Idiot thread by a guy who won't post under a registered handle. Jager finished neck-and-neck (0.002 behind) the reigning world champion. We won't be hearing from him again when Jager breaks 8:00 at Monaco!

You mean... Jager got kicked down again? Who could have guessed?
The same Jager who couldnt change his gear if he was driving a manual car??
The same Jager who trips over a barrier when he has a 30m lead!
The same one who is ++++++++ (a record amount on a surprisingly accurate list)????
How scary.... Kenya is shaking in its boots!!!

Why would I want to post under a registered handle if it's not required on this site? You registered users leave quite a footprint - so when you flip flop on so many issues we can call you out on it. ?
Soren Knudsen is the next great American STEEPLE CHaSER
Sure, he tripped over the last barrier with a 30m lead on Conseslus Kipruto on pace to hand it to a guy who finished the race in 7:58. That is somehow a mark of shame? That was certainly the greatest steeple performance ever for a non-African steepler.
He had a shot at 7:55-56 that day. He is off to a good start this season, so clearly not done. The fact that he was destroyed in the kick means business as usual. He's had one great, great steeple finish in American-only competition. He's always going to have to use the long drive to burn off his competition and it is easier to prevent drafting in the steeple than other events.

The same one who was ranked as the most suspicious doper on the likely doping list. A lot more suspicious than Rupp, Farah and Kiprop...
Evan Jager is DONE!!!
he went sub-4 in February (his 10th sub-4), indoors in Seattle, just behind Sam Prakel and Lopez Lomong, so I don't think he has any concerns about being "done" just yet.
cheers.

Everyone else went clean too.
Most people seem to like Jager. He is one of the best of all-time and seems to still be at the top of his game. This is a silly topic.
I saw him destroy the record at my team's home cross country course. He will always have that and you will never be able to take it away from him.

Macdaddy before 2016 Olympics: "While it is super cool to see Birech having this much respect for Jager, it won't happen. After watching him get dominated in last years championship and his poor indoor season, I am predicting a 5th-7th place finish for Jager."
This would be the time for you to STFU!
