I don’t understand people not picking Geneseo. They almost swept SUNYAC, including a nationally ranked team and have beaten RPI. They’re looking like a podium ncaa team. RPI on the other hand had a hard time beating RIT.

RIT is hardly a top 5 team, if that. RPI has way too much of everything to lose to Geneseo. TCNJ barely won their league??? Next rankings please.

Then why did they lose to geneseo at rowan -
If RPI is so good, how is RIT not top 4? The gap between SLU and RIT was the same between RPI and RIT. I don't think RPI can be that good unless you think RPI had a bad day at Liberty Leagues. I don't think RIT is better than Oneonta but what you said doesn't really make sense. SLU or NYU would have to beat RIT for them to not be top 5.

Vassar’s top 5 was legit broken up today by NYU’s 11th man who did not run at conference. Why is anyone calling for them to be a top 10?

When you look at results you see 21 points between RPI and RIT. It was a small meet even if it is more top heavy than the SUNYAC. However, what is not obvious by the team score is RPI having their 2nd 20 seconds in front of RIT's 1, and 7 in front of RIT 4, 10 in front of 5. THIS was RIT's best day of the season, and perhaps RPI's as well. RIT will only get better between then and a week from now as Feigel was their 5th and will be 2nd by regionals.
Also 21 points from 27-48 is a much bigger gap to close than 48-69 as the avg time per team shows:
RPI- 25:16
RIT- 25:36
SLU- 25:38
Oneonta and SLU will be close, but the edge goes to SLU.
Geneseo- (pedigree, belief & coach)
RPI- (good top 2, deep after that)
RIT- (performed when it mattered last year, doing it again)
SLU- (better top 2 helps in bigger meet, and a better 5 and a more trusted coach with a deeper bench)
Oneonta- (live and die by the pack of top 4 and unlikely to have the same race as pregional, 5th and beyond are no good, new coach) -

That wasn't the top guys for Vassar. So good for NYU's 11th man, he finished behind Vassar's 13th lol. -

Feigel didn't race at pre-nats, it's obvious he's in bad shape. I doubt he'll be anywhere close to where he finished at Regionals last year. RIT is trash and this thread needs to move on. -

He’s only 19 seconds behind Domanico of RPI who he finished one spot in front of at regionals last year...he’s not that far off and two weeks is a good amount of time for his talent to figure things out. -
1. Geneseo
2. RPI
3.SLU
4. Oneonta

I mean, RPI beat the field at Liberty League (including 2 nationally ranked teams), so no. If you honestly think that Geneseo is a podium team because they beat RPI by 10 points and they beat up on Oneonta in what was basically a tri-meet, you're obviously a Geneseo freshman. -
Not to mention SUNYACs was basically underwater. Hard to compare times/results when the winner ran 28:xx. If Genny's top 2 break up the O'Connors then I'll take Geneseo. If not, it's RPI by 10 points. Oneonta, SLU, RIT is gonna be a battle.
Oneonta and RIT get in at large, SLU on the outside looking in. -
1. RIT (Underrated)
2. Geneseo
3. RPI -
5 teams in. TCNJ shocks people again but finishes 6th and does not make it.
RPI, Geneseo, RIT, SLU, and Oneonta -

It may be more tenuous of a situation than that. I think there is a good chance the region only gets 3 or 4, if you take a good hard look at what teams the top 5 have beaten. Top 3 are a lock (Genny, RPI, RIT) but in reality SLU and Oneonta have no out of region wins, and if they look less than stellar on the regional race there isnt that much of a reason to take them by the committees criteria. The only valuable out of region teams at Rowan beat SLU and Oneonta, and if NYU gives these teams a fight (which is a very possible result), the argument is even less sound due to NYUs performance at UAAs. -
I am going to be completely honest, I think this year D3 XC is less competitive than it has been in past years and I think that WILL benefit the Atlantic Region when it comes to at large bids.
Heres my prediction:
NE: 5 (Amherst, Williams, Middlebury, MIT, Bates)
AR:5 (Geneseo, RPI, SLU,RIT, Oneonta)
ME: 3 ( Haverford, Johns Hopkins, CMU)
S/SE: 2 (Rhodes, Emory)
GL: 4 (Calvin, Otterbein, Depauw, CWRU)
MW: 6 (NCC, WashU,LAX,UC,Eau Claire, Stout)
C: 4 (St. Olaf, Carleton, Wartburg, Cornell College)
W: 2 (PP, CMS)
Northeast Region: the top 4 are a lock, but the 5th place team has a strong chance at getting a bid based who they beat at regionals. Depending on who it is that comes in 5th, the region could only get 4.
Atlantic Region: Geneseo and RPI are obviously going to Nationals. However, the 3rd and 4th place teams are a toss up. If SLU comes in 3rd, RIT 4th and Oneonta come in 5th, the region sends 5. I think this is a very likely scenario. If RIT comes in 3rd and Oneonta comes in 4th, the region send 4.
Mid East Region: 3 very strong teams but the 4th(Dickinson) is not very good which leads me to believe they will only get 3 bids.
South/SouthEast: I do not need to go any further into this. Trash region. Only sending 2 teams.
Great Lakes: Likely will send 3 but also could send 4.
MidWest: Honestly, this is the most competitive region in the country. They could send 7 teams.
Central Region: Strong region but will only send 4 based on performances against other regions.
West: Only sending 2 this year. Pomona and CMS. -
FYI...NE stands for New England and not Northeast. I agree with your rationales though. Atlantic should get 4 or 5 teams. If the likes of Rowan or TCNJ come in and somehow finish 3rd, then the Atlantic Region will probably only get 3 teams to NCAAs.

You think CWRU is better than Dickinson??
-
You also only have 31 teams on that list
