It's looking inevitable that Kenya will be banned by the time Tokyo comes around. Assuming this happens, who are your picks for gold medals at this point?
It's still two years away, but my favourites for Gold in the men's middle and long would be :
800m : Kyle Langford
1500m : Jakob Ingebrigsten
5000m : Jakob Ingebrigsten
10000 : Alex Yee
Marathon : Galen Rupp
3000m Steeple : Evan Jager
Also, there's a good chance Kenyan times will continue to drop dramatically over the next two years with increased testing and the threat of a federation suspension, so these could be favourites for gold even if Kenya is given another chance.
After his great 3:40 today, Charlie Grice now clearly also is in the mix over 1500m.
Who said he ever was?? Are you comparing Charlie Grice (a great runner who pi$$es on 99.999% of this board) with a World Championship bronze medalist at age 20, and a Commonwealth silver medalist at age 21 (with a bullet train finish)?
Oh dear, Ouma's boys could only muster a 3:30 and 3:31. Tim beats Elijah by over a second again yet always loses to him in championships. Hmmm.. Tim was running two seconds faster earlier in the season in Paris. I'd Bett that the new WADA lab is already showing results.
Just lucky for the rest of the field that Jakob had to miss tonight.
