I'm sorry, but neither you nor ex-letsrunner know much more about professional athlete's training than I do, unless you are qualified coaches or such. You said you were regional level and ex-letsrunner got to a UK championships likely with pharmaceutical help (if he had the opportunity).
I'm 47, inflammation problems, wrecked calves, meniscus tears, probable arthritis, and I'm already getting close to age graded regional level for 800m off of 6 months haphazard running in the park averaging less than 10 miles a week.
I'll take it from Canova, but not from you two :)
My agenda is that I'm sick of doped up Africans ruining our sport over the last 3 decades. What's yours? To defend obvious dopers at all costs and teach kids that blacks are radically different to white people?
Yes, I am a qualified coach.
Yes, regional level (which in my region is not that good :P ), but I have coached (even last year) national level runners.
I would much prefer you share your training and progression with us than your views on Kenyan athletics.
For the past two years I coach mostly masters runners so I would be very interested in following your progress.
You are sick of doped up Africans. Great! So am I!!!!
I am also sick of doped up athletes from all other continents (except for Antarctica).
My "agenda" is "innocent until proven guilty".
You seem to assume dopers must only be non-whites.
Hey! I am white, I am far from being a SJW, and my 5 favourite runners ever are 3 white, 1 black, 1 Japanese.
Just let things happen. Tim doped? He'll be caught, like Kiprop was.
He didn't? Leave the guy alone!
Jakob ran an amazing race/time! He came from behind, so probably he could have gone 3:30 had he even-paced it!
I like Tim! I like Jakob!
Leave skin colour/continent/nationality out of it and please, contribute in a good way to the forum.
And again, as a coach of master runners I would be very interested in following the progress of someone who started aged 47 and who wants to compete at the highest level in his age group(s).
Peace :)
