What a boring race
What a boring race
So... Looks like testing really is getting better after that 2 mile.
I got 54.5 for Barega's last lap, but ugh, what a disappointing night. I hope he dosen't disappear like all the other great youngsters from Ethiopia.
WTF happened to Ches...
Probably 15 guys in the lead pack at the bell. Barega blasted Chelimo the last 200 and Chelimo blasted Balew and everyone else the final 200.
54.83 final lap for Barega, 55.50 for Chelimo, 55.88 for Balew, Ahmed 4th 56.45

I wonder if they ran even one lap (aside from the last one) at the "requested" 60.8/lap pace.
I agree friend. No one went with them and they still didn't hit that pace that you posted. Puzzling?
Go Chelimo. About 20 seconds behind Teg
Pisses me off Chelimo "guaranteed" an American Record and then didn't even go out with the pacer
Ches didn't look good, but he hasn't raced outdoors. Was supposed to race at Oxy. Maybe he's had an injury. Jon will find out.

Not really, unfortunately. Proper testing would have weeded out these random "18-year-olds" from E. Africa. Just a weak ass race. No one wanted to push the pace.
Amazing how slow they were at 1600 and what they were aiming for, even with pacers!
Remember when chelimo said he was going to take a run at the American record in this one? What a crock that was. I'm all for trying to win the race instead of record chasing, but if you are going to make a claim like that you should make it more than 200m at record pace.
No wonder this sport is so unpopular, even the media think an interview is more interesting that an actual race. This converage is an embarrassment
That was very disappointing, Justyn Knight could've contended for the win in this one. They barely even negative split after a 4:11.
Thanks to those writing live updates! Live feeds not available south of the border, so thank you for allowing me to follow along!

Agreed, nobody REALLY wanted it.
Wow, that was a dud.

You're welcome friend. Sorry I can't type as fast as WEJO, he destroyed me.

Really lost about .2 seconds there. What is the big deal? Ive seen far worse. If he fell and the whole pack passed him it would tell a different story
Your joking right? If Rudisha lost that much in the Olympics, he would have lost to Amos.
.2? Noway. Maybe .2 in distance, I'd say more like half a second but when you consider momentum and energy I'd say like a full second.
Kenya 11, 15, 16 and 17
Hmmmmmmm......

Cheserek is a good example of why agents shouldn't be allowed to coach.
