Why would someone have to be faking to claim 7:00 min pace is easy? I'm 61 and run the regular steady runs - 5 or 6 miles - between 7:20 and 7:30, and that's coming back off injury.
Was never, nor would have claimed to anywhere near semi-pro, and was never a high-mileage runner, but would have done nearly all steady mileage under 7:00 per mile into mid-50s. I still run the recovery parts of intervals/reps at 8:00 mile, and can't imagine going out and running 5 at that pace.
