Every top male distance runner from WA that was recruited or went on an official this year ended up making a different choice. There is/was a reason.

So every person on the UCLA football roster had at least a 3.0 gpa in high school?! Hilarious.
No idea. But the vast majority on the track & field team did (on a 4.0 scale) . And yes, there can be different recruiting standards obviously.
They can occasionally work with less...but only so many of those...and then their a$$ is on the line if they don't work out academically. This isn't up for debate lol.

Probably not but can't speak to football recruiting standards.
So my point was to the people saying that UW admission standards are what makes it hard for recruiting...not true. UCLA is far harder to get into then UW.
Football and basketball are completely different. They suck up the allotted exceptions.
Most incoming UCLA tfxc athletes have GPAs on a 5.0 scale.
I never said UCLA and UW have the same admission standards. I said their standards are higher than other schools’ like Oregon (across the board) and USC (athletics).
New Article from UW's campus paper.
This isn't anything we haven't already known.

None of this comes as a surprise to anyone familiar with Metcalfe and his program. The athletes presented their case, and he was gone the very next day. I think that he bailed before much more damaging material came to light.
Not at all surprised...the large numbers of kids either transferring out or quitting for good simply didn’t make sense otherwise, and the recent lack of recruiting success was telling, as that was an area Metcalf had been strong in previously.
I guess this leaves no doubt who Prouse was blogging about...

Can you please re-post Prouse's words?
Would also be highly interesting to see the blog post linked to earlier in this thread which was taken down, if anyone has a screenshot. Supposedly it also had details.
Just looked for the link but it doesn't work anymore:
https://www.charlotteprouse.com/single-post/2018/03/12/Dear-NCAA-Coaches
In the article, she did not list any names, but she talked about the way she was talked to and treated by a coach and how it affects her and other athletes that it happens to. About trying to rediscover the joy in your sport when someone very negative almost kills it for you.
She did not list any juicy/specific allegations but ambiguously referred to scenarios that have happened. I assume now she was referring to Metcalf.
They feel this? They feel that? Some guy on the team whining about his coach wanting to eat healthy. The boys are girls and the girls are boys.
Not sure if it’s just me, but I get an error message trying to follow the link above.

There was nothing on the blog, it was just a "stub".
Here's the Cliff Notes version of the article. It starts by saying a bunch of distance runnres came up with a list of grievances and took them to the athletic department sand said that if something wasn't done , they'd go public. The next day he resigned. The article has some people saying they called him a "piece of ****" and "fat". It focused a lot at the beginning on some people complaining he'd touch them to see if they were fat. Weirdly, all of the people quoted were men, like one guy who was 6'3 and 150.
The end of the article had some interesting stuff in it as well. Reading between the lines, is alcohol an issue?

UW can't go sprints as some suggest as much as the facilities and talent pool around them could support it because the admission standards are so tough on the men's side that they can't get enough guys into school. Football and basketball eat up all the exceptions the university makes on men's side. Should have some emphasis on women's side because they can make it work there easier but have done a poor job historically in the area. Best move would be distance head and focus on field events and multis.
das rasis
this blog was linked on her twitter with the post so try thiss??
in addition her earlier youtube video shed some light on possible aspects of uw
Slimy, used car salesman personality. This info was know within the PNW running community. That's why recruiting in state for them has been so difficult as of late. A lot of good runners not even considering them. The team will be healthy, happier and more successful without Metcalf.
