Kalon Barnes of the small Southeast TX town of Silsbee won both the 4A 100m and 200m by nearly 0.4 seconds yesterday and showed himself to be in a class of his own.
I found that he's a signee for Baylor's football program this fall, but here's to hoping he can crack 10.00 at the Trials and have some doors open that would see him focus on the track, given his progression shows there's still room for improvement (i.e. 10.62, 10.22, 10.04 as a 10th, 11th, 12th grader):
