Welcome to the big show, Drew Windle. Dude got roasted.
A little better result for Clayton Murphy. 1:45.97 for 6th.
Much better race for Murphy in 1:45.97.

Sammy Wanijru? He never ran the 5000 on the track.
It’s about which part of Kenya he’s from and what he could be in the future.
I'll hold my breath until he runs at least a 10000m.
Men’s 1500
We expected the men’s 1500 to be a battle between world indoor champ Samuel Tefera of Ethiopia, 18, and world outdoor silver medallist Timothy Cheruiyot of Kenya, 22, and that’s exactly what happened. In the end, Cheruiyot got a narrow win a world leading 3:31.48 as Tefera had to settle for a pb of 3:31.63 (previous pb of 3:33.78) with Abdelaati Iguider third in 3:32.72.
The Race
Tefera was the first racer at 800 (1:54) and he still had the lead at the bell (2:37) had the lead at the bell with Iguider second and Cheriuoyot third. However Cheruiyot got the win as closed in an unofficial (52.4 (26.5 final 200)) just getting by Tefera with a little more than 20 meters remaining.
Drew Windle bombed

Last time I pick him to possibly win:)
Kitilit really started pushing with 300 to go and he and Kinyamal got clear on the backstretch and then really opened it up on the turn. They finished a second and a half ahead of everyone else.
Much better run for Murphy.

Can someone please tell me why Drew Windle had sunglasses on top of his head for a race that is taking place in the dark? Should I start a thread asking that? Is that worthy of it's own thread?
Milller-Uibo so smooth in the 200.
Was it just me, or did it look like Windle had sunglasses sitting on his head? Not wearing them even, but pushed up on his head ... for an 800 at night. Not sure I've ever seen that in the Diamond League; maybe a good luck charm sort of deal? I do remember Gary Reed sporting sunglasses often (even after dark)

Well I'm pretty sure he doesn't have to wear them at night but Brooks Beast signed a deal with ROKA.
I went over to Dallas (next door to me in FW) and got a tour of the ROKA facilities. They gave me glasses as well. Super comfortable and lightweight . I NEVER wore sunglasses when I ran , but now can see how they become a daily accessory to protect the eyes and some style when you run.
But no reason to wear them at night on top of your head.
I think Drew was thinking in his head this was a big opportunity to make a statement and DL and didn't execute his normal race.

This site is tough to quit ?
They said on international feed that McLeod is changing from 7 steps to 8 to the first hurdle going back to what he used to do?
Why would he change? Guy was on fire.
In another case of Chinese intellectual thievery, a local noodle house will sponsor a non-DL race which is an blatant rip-off of the beer mile. Instead of beer, athletes will need to eat a plate of dumplings before each lap. Flotrack was set to buy the broadcast rights to this event, but pulled out at the last minute because all runners needed to be weight challenged. Apparently, Flotrack believed the event might be considered in poor taste as it promoted fat shaming.
For the record, I like dumplings.

He sure did, but it looked like he might have tried to work on running midpack early. Clearly it didn't work out.
But I'm more interested in finding out why he was wearing shades.
https://twitter.com/letsrundotcom/status/995279259676573696As for Murphy, the time was better but that race was depressing for me. To see two big American talents get just destroyed.
Weldon, please respond to us in the google doc. We need to know if you are recapping events or not.
If the Brojos are going to shill for ROKA, just do one of those sponsored ads on the front page and stop with this back and forth nonsense in the thread.

It's coming, he's great at XC.

It sounds like his default was 8 steps to the first hurdler. He tried to move it to 7 as the theory is it's faster if you take less steps, but didn't like it.
When was he changing it? Maybe he was trying it earlier this year in practice? Anyone know what he used last year.

Shill for Roka? Quite the opposite. I had no idea there was a sponsorship with Brooks. I wondered if their might be as why else would you wear it.
Regardless, to me it's a clown look and makes the brand look bad.
