From perusing the All Time Athletics lists:
Kwemoi's 7:28.73 win at Doha 2017 is the only sub-7:30 outdoor 3000m time since 2011.
Chelimo's 7:31.57 2nd place at Doha 2017 is his PB.
Tegenkamp's 8:07.07 2 mile AR converts to 7:30.99.
Mottram's 8:03.50 2 mile win at Pre 2007 converts to 7:27.69.
Chapa's 7:37.70 run at Hayward May 10, 1979 is still the second fastest winning outdoor 3000m time ever on American soil, bettered only by Lagat's 7:35.92 at Pre 2009.
Missed Kejelcha's 7:28.19 from 2016.
Make that two outdoor sub-7:30's since 2011.

cheserek will win.
wish this was a 5k, ches would be going after sub 13:00
Tiernan won't let it be a kickers race unless he's not in great shape. he's a grinder. same with True. But really, those dudes are probably just going to PB's, not a win.

Hath cheserek been raised KENYAN and competed and trained KENYAN, he may have become another kipchoge or komen. Now that's not a possibility.
It depends. If Cheserek grew up economically-deprived in Kenya, that is to say like most of those who turn to running, he would have had to have been a fast maturer/developer. There, if you're not close to world class by the time you're a late teenager, you're not going to make it as a pro. There's no college scholarships for runners there who are slow developers. Those who are end up quitting the sport.
I gleefully await seeing True get utterly cucked by this field. Wonder who he'll blame for his epic fail this time around.

Neither Tiernan nor True could be considered among the top 10+ guys in this field. Neither is likely to factor or even finish in the top 8.

I was shocked at this post until I read the name. After how many years now, I still can’t believe BW’s maniacal dedication to making BS posts that appear earnest at first glance.
Instead of talking smack, try to
1) prove there is a "2 mile world record"
2) argue that people don't usually run wide in a field that big in a race that short.
appealing to ridicule is self-defeating if it's all you've got. Make valid points or stfu.
No serious disputes so far.
Richard just got beat by a kid at Payton Jordon, no record!

this is a weird post. True is a pretty no nonsense guy. Not one who makes excuses for himself.
Hard to bet against Ches here.

what about True calling out Kiprop and his agent on Twitter but not acknowledging his agent (aurumsports) as a group who represents dathan ritzenhein and kara goucher, both of whom have recent allegations about PED's against them. i personally, couldn't care less, but it's hypocritical
true is kind of a whiner. i hope he does well on the roads and i like him as a runner though.
he should probably just continue to develop his coffee business...

It’s ok, you don’t have to play it up for me. I’m in on it. But I still think you’re a madman for carrying on for so long. What are you trying to prove? Who are you trying to appeal to? I suspect that you don’t even know yourself.

Wasn't he the great white hope a few years ago? He runs like one surprise good race a year, then the rest of the time sits in the pack and tries to kick and just misses making the podium.
I think it's the opposite. He generally runs consistently well in the 1500m and 5000m races that he runs. Was 2nd at trials last year. Pretty young still.

You are crazy.
He's not crazy. I'm not sure about it being the weakest of the records, but it is nowhere near the 3k, 5k, 10k or 800m. It is definitely one of the weaker world records.
