Great recap, would like to see more like this.

Caster easily moves through the field to win by about a second in 3:59.9, new NR
That's not a win. It's a loss. He failed to run the right race.
She's put on a lot of weight, and doesn't look good at all.

Obiri is nowhere near being in form. She didn't look good during indoors either. She had such a great year last year. I wonder if this year it is hard for her to get into her training. There are no championships going on, so might just sit back this year.
Jenny went out way too early, should of just held it all for the last 200m. She was in trouble during that last 200m
I was thinking of you when Obiri dropped to the rear of the field! - Interestingly she has repeatedly stated she was to attempt the 5000m WR this year. Regrettably her form at present seems to preclude that. - Doha can be hard though it was 32C at race time. I was very surprised that Tirop took the win however, as she has never featured to the front of the pack in previous 5K races let alone 3K.
Wonder why Genzebe and Almaz werent running they would both have blown this field to oblivion if they had run in Doha.
Unfortunately there arent many 5k female races in the DL this year, first one is Eugene and that is run during the day so could be warm and windy thus precluding any fast times. I just hope we see all the big guns on display in the Prefontaine meet.
I enjoy laughing at Hellen Obiri. Granted, it's not quite as much fun when she's so inept she drops out of camera range with two and a half laps remaining.
At that point I was wishing it were a 5000m race so at least Obiri would enter the camera view again, while being lapped.
I guess I'll have to wait for that later.

Not surprised at the win as he beat a quality field.
Knowing the ego of the Qataris , this was mandated.
I tell you this sport has become so predictable .
Guessing the Qatari athletes are not tested too close at this meet. If Lance Armstrong taught us anything, it is that testers / test results can be bought, and the Qataris have plenty of money.

Wow Birgen was 2.5 seconds up on the field at the bell and got reeled in quickly on backstretch.

Justus Soget is managed by Frederico Rosa, ran 3:32 last year at what it is claimed, 17. This sport is so rotten, it is ridiculous.
Kenyan high school scene is very competitive.

I didn’t enjoy laughing at her though as I enjoy watching an outstanding athlete, but hell I was scratching my head wondering what was up. She had a shocker in the indoor WC at Birmingham, struggled to a slow win in the Commonwealth Games 5k and now this poor showing in Doha.
Where the hell are Dibaba and Ayana though?

Coming off the juice you mean.
Classic effect of Kiprop's bust having a chilling effect on Kenyan performances and times.

Well we knew it had to scare someone, turns out it was Bett.
