Kipchoge beat him by more than a minute in the Olympics it was barely more than a hard long run for him. Kipchoge's 40k hard long runs are run at a pace faster than Rupp has ever ran in the full marathon.

Rupp wins tomorrow 1:03 / 1:02:05 2:05:05
That was two years ago. Galen is much better now.

No there many other factors for marathon potential. But kipchoge and Rupp do share many qualities and race times.
And yes when deciding pace and goal time one of the ways you can do this is looking at your 10 k time. The 10 k has a nice blend of endurance and speed. Tell me what way you determine your goal pace for the marathon?
Rupp at the moment given his recent 1/2 marathon and factoring his 10 k of 26.44 is certainly ready for a 2:05 or 2:06 effort.

Marathon PR: 2:02:57
10K PR: 28:30.0
Not much correlation there. You can only extrapolate marathon times from people who've had extensive track experience. Nowadays, with the money involved, athletes are skipping the track entirely and moving directly to the marathon. With them, the best marathon time predictor is their marathon times.
if u study the improvment of kiprop performances through the years no way he is clean his team r not real technicien to pay intention on this matter wada people smart detected this isssue probably spyed on him colsely and got them hopefully next mouse rupp his team ,wish wada can provide his testesterone level ,it s not natural in human athlete to do wat he did in 2016 exple rio 10km -marathon same issue during us trial w/all his races before and aftr ,may be human can do that in 60s 70 s bcz performances were very low if he can around 2h8 tomorow aftr drping boston /aftr 3 weeks that inhuman

Mary Keitany might be another example -- her wikipedia-listed PRs are a rather ludicrous 16:29 for 5000m, and a more competitive 31:15 for 10000m on the track, and then last year she ran 30:4x on the road. But obviously her marathon potential is entirely illuminated by her road performances, which have pushed the WR at all distances.
However, the fact that some of the current great marathoners do not have good track PRs doesn't actually disprove the runnergirl Rupp-fan-girl's contention that a fast 10K is a good predictor.
Tirunesh and Kenenisa fall along the classic model she proposes.
But I can't really buy the suggestion that one sub-2:05 marathon will put Rupp on top of the world -- we have any number of east Africans under 2:05 who are not on top of the world. In fact, we have so many we can't possibly name them.
Granted there has been some great writing about how Rupp is good at recovery, and his marathon performance after an Olympic 10K supports this, but I still feel like 10K on the track is a lot different than 19 on the roads fighting rain, wind and near freezing temps. I just don't think it's going to be as easy to bounce back for him. I think it'll be a good day for him if he can manage to break his PB. I think a 2:05 is a stretch.

The most important factor that will determine how fast Galen performs tomorrow is a combination of the weather and the number of hot Czech chicks along the 'thon course. If it is warm enough for the Prague hotties to be wearing white shorts to accent their geometrically curvaceous lines then Rupp will go under 2:06. If the weather is on the nippy side then the hotties might be shivering and not exposing their pleasing smiles thus lowering Galen's chances of going sub 2:08.
Main reason Rupp dropped out of Boston because the college co-eds were too cold to make it out this year for their usual cheer relief thus boosting depleted T-levels at critical 'thon juncture.

How drunk are you? Or were you just born a stupid f#$k??
Do you honestly think that anybody wants to read this crap or think it's funny?

Yeah sure Rupp "haters" will eat crow. More likely that Rupp eats dust served up to him just like Yuki prepared. Can't wait to see another 2:09 but you guys won't shut up for another few years at least.
No we wont shut up because Rupp is the best American born distance runner ever. His accomplishments wont shut up, either.

Will this pu$$y ever face the big guys in London, Berlin, Tokyo,?
Not in this life...
He should have the balls Mo had, by choosing London
He faced the big guys in the Olympics, which is more competitive and more prestigious, and earned 3rd place, a bronze medal. So yeah, he is not a pu$$y. He's been facing tough competition ever since he stepped on the track on the world scene.
Ever heard of a guy named Bekele? Rupp ran against him. And beat him.
Then if you backwards extrapolate from the best marathoner in the world, Eliud Kipchoge, his 10k PR is 26:49 -- good, but slower than Rupp. Rupp is slightly faster at 10k but he's not in Kipchoge's league at the marathon.
