Though this is an opinion piece written by a transexual AFL player who has no understanding of athletics, so I'd disregard it, the SA media are big supporters of Caster and would have the first scoop on any changes she made to her events. She entered the 400m at the SA Uni champs, won it and entered the 200m but didn't line up for it.
Caster Semenya wont reduce testerone level, soon will move up to 5000m/10000m

She should do the 3000m steeple instead. 800/1500 speed would matter more here, she is tall and strong which helps with the steeples.
But it is getting ridiculous. The IAAF has to find a ruling for Semenya-like cases that is not restricted to certain events. They did actually worse this time than last time because the inclusion of the 1500 where no advantage was found in their study and the exclusion of hammer (or whatever where large advantages were found) makes it really look like a ruling taylored towards Semenya.
I predict that they will add the culprit field events soon too. They have so shot themselves in the foot with this selection of events since it literally spans Semenya's competitive range (or rather, her current range!).
It also creases me up somewhat that they excluded the 200m - Dutee Chand's event.
Just another observation whilst I'm posting. Guess who isn't at all bothered about the event anomaly? The site owners of LetsRun.com. Not a peep. See, they don't really care about the issue per se, they just enjoy the hate campaign against Semenya. -

I have nothing against Caster or any other athlete it her condition. The fact of the matter is when a person is born with both sexual organs, their tetes regardless if fully developed or not produces testerone at the lowest level 3 x more than any none tetes female at her highest normal level. Throw in bigger heart and oxygen consumption and you see why the IAAF finally hotten something right. Its not Caster the IAAF is targeting but the rest of female athletes who have to compete with anyone who have advantage via their testerone level.
It's no athlete fault for being born with both sexual organs but that doesn't give them the right to compete against women who will never approach their testerone levels normally. -

The IAAF ruling is discriminatory in that it wasn't applied to all women's events. Don't 5000 runners or long jumpers (*coughbrittanyreesecough*) deserve to be protected as well?
I think they are forced to apply it narrowly to avoid the ridiculous CAS court from finding a silly reason to overturn the rule. -

I read that and nowhere did it mention caster moving up distance to avoid the new rule
but yeah...you can pretty much disregard that article. It's written by a 220 lb, 6'3" "woman" who used to play professional men's handball and now plays professional women's football. -
That's not the article, link was on T&FN yesterday.

Please provide a source for your claims.
I read an article in a reputable newspaper that stated you are a lying moron. -
She will get slaughtered at those distances.

I believe caster could run 15:30 at best and 34:00. So it will be a non factor in women’s 5k/10k unless it takes a year to slim down by 15-20lbs -

wouldnt Semenya racing Ayana in the 10k basically be an equal race in terms of genetic vs doped advantages, respectively?
Starting to sound a bit like Nascar, or any other structured motorsport
When was she convicted of doping? curious because I thought that would be a bigger headline. If the 10k world record holder was convicted of doping. -

She's not built like an elite 5k/10k runner (5-10 160) and seems to have a very odd running form. She can blast away the women's competition in the 800 based on pure power, but I don't think she'll stay with the best in the world in the longer distance events.
There are plenty of amateurs - I am one - who played 'power' sports when young then lost weight, stopped lifting and concentrated on mileage to do better than expected in distance events.
Semenya has the added motivation of money and fame to spur her to these changes.
Don't be surprised to see a slimmer, less muscular Caster a few months from now. -

Will Semenya even be good at the 5000/10000?
No, at least not good as far as world class standards are concerned. Too big, too much of a sprinter. Look, having tons of speed and being jacked can be good for the middle distances (and get you lots of ladies, ask Caster herself about that, she'll tell ya), but at some point it is a disadvantage for distance races.
This reminds of when FloJo decided to drop her main sprint events and move up to the marathon (also because her testosterone was too high, but for different reasons) -
This thread is nonsense.
She’s very good at the 1500 but not even the best. To think she would break records at 5000 or 10000 is foolish.
She’d do better at the 200 than the 5000. -

You're an idiot.
If anything this proves Caster ISN'T doing this to give herself an advantage. If she was, she would lower T levels and continue to compete in her best event the 800m. -
Running is Semanya's meal ticket. He needs to get the payments from the competitions to support his family. I could see him getting appearance fees for awhile for the longer track races and then on the road. And if he can run a 15:30 perhaps he can maintain the cash flow. Again, still stealing money from real women.

NOT TRUE AT ALL.
She is not moving up in distance -

I have nothing against Caster but when the move to 5000m/10000m is made and Caster is still competitive in the world stage...will only prove the advantage of increased testerone levels. The longer distances will negate some of Caster's advantage but what female do you know can approach sub 50 400m and still be capable of sub 15 5000m and sub 32 10000m and possibly faster in both events.
Caster will achieve those times in the 5000m/10000m if the justices system don't interfere with the IAAF's ruling.
Caster could do end up dominating or at least being very competitive in the longer distances as well. There are athletes who used to be good sprinters(though not of international level) who switched to longer distances and became even better. There is an athlete, I think Kenyan named Fancy Chemutai. She is the second fastest half marathon which she ran this year 64:53. Nothing against her but this athlete looks and runs like a dude. Iaaf should just create another division for intersex athletes where they can compete among themselves if they do not want to take the medications to reduce testosterone levels. -
Caster's BMI is about equal to Chris Solinsky. It's possibly she could run a fast 10000, but I doubt it considering she's about 30-40 pounds heavier than other competitors her height.
