Funny. In my head, I thought, the only place that will take a POS like this is Florida State. Sure enough, he’s signing with Florida State.

He is like David Mack on the accelerated program

Check out Randy Moss' high school story. Check out Allen Iverson's high school story. Cooper needs immediate support. It's not over. Cooper can get past this.
Those two played real sports and made big $$$, not just a running hobby.
Also, it can go the other way in life, starting from something and going downhill (Dykstra, Sprewell).

Yep, rap music lyrics are what made him do it. We should ban folks like Kanye.
Imagine the distance medley relay possibility for this group of misfits in prison. Dalton Hengst on the 1200, the Jericho Miler of course on the 1600, like duh, Tyrese on the 400 and maybe an aging Tim Danielson on the 800.
Recognizing that he was wrong and should be held accountable does not mean that we cannot also feel saddened by the fact that a potential superstar in our sport has done something self-destructive.
He was wrong, he will need to suffer the consequences. I did a lot of things of which I am not proud when I was his age, and even a little older. I am glad that I did not get caught and have it publicized. Well, I did get caught once, but it wasn't the worst thing on Earth and no one cared because I wasn't a nationally known athlete.
The kid (and yes, while he is legally an adult, I still consider 18 year olds to be kids) can be redeemed and I hope he makes the changes necessary for redemption. I am pulling for him to do that, not because of his athletic ability, but because our country already have enough you men wasting their potential.
+100.

Regardless of his age, he's a high school junior. Yes, he's a legal adult. Yes, this is a matter of public record. But do you not find it at all gross that FloTrack and MileSplit, which made money off of promoting his likeness and track exploits, continues to make money by promoting and making nationally known his darkest moments? They're promoting their brand without any respect for his privacy or personhood. They're entitled to do whatever they want. It just seems gross to me. And I may cancel my FloPro account over it.
No, I expect the news to report the news. I find it "gross" that an adult male thinks he's entitled to steal a car and don't give one sh!t if his feelings get hurt after he gets caught.
Stealing a car is no bueno. But at least he didn’t assault somebody or other violent crime.
So the Cooper story is fair game to post on here, but we can't discuss the Penn Relays champ in the javelin (#5 all-time high schooler)? That's difficult to reconcile...
Between Cooper, Dalton Hengst and Tzuriel Pedigo, the Milesplit leaderboard is beginning to look like "America's Most Wanted: Track & Field Division".

Help him do what? Wiggle out of the BS mess he got himself into as an ADULT?

There was a thread up for awhile recently. Stop inferring some kind of bias.

Sometimes criminal attorneys get sh&t cases. This potential case gives a criminal defense attorney something which to work. 1) Clean previous record; 2) Great potential; 3) No weapon; 4) No verbal threat. 5) No one hurt. Do you want Cooper punished so either you or your son may take his spot on USA's 2020 Olympic 4x400m relay team? If not, cheer for this all to go Cooper's way.
I would think that the county attorney would have looked over the evidence to see if it compelling enough to keep him in jail. So, if he's still in, who amongst you is going to pony up the bail money?

I'm not sure about his previous record. Someone on flrunners (MileSplit) is saying he was just recently arrested on an unrelated matter, but I don't know if that's true or not.

What am I missing on Dalton Hengst? He got arrested too? For what?
Update: The Miami New Times' Chuck Strouse received access to a police report from the Miami-Dade Police Department and reported Tuesday that four teenagers were stopped at Miami International Airport on Thursday, April, 26, with the intention of trying to steal cars. A bolt cutter was found at the scene and Cooper, according to the report, "admitted to being driven to the rental car center to steal cars."
"On Thursday afternoon, according to a police report, he (Cooper) was stopped with three other young men of about the same age -- Shomari Durosier, Andy Vieux and Kareem Boothe -- at the airport's Intermodal Center. The boys had driven into the building, where several cars have been stolen in the past. After authorities spotted a chain blocking off cars that had been snipped, they called police."
