I do not know if Mark Feigen broke 4 after college but the other four are sub 4 milers.
If these are his final PRs he an enviable Ivy career.

Leif’s teammate here:
If you look at the results for any of the athletes in the race you’ll see that there is a crazy split in the middle. Those of us who were following his race online were confused too. The crew misplaced a mat and that’s not Leif’s fault. The course was accurate— he ran the full 26.2, no ifs ands or butts. You folks should spend more time training and less time generating baseless conspiracy theories about a guy who ran a kick-ass first marathon.

Are you new here? LRC is all about washed up D1 athletes who think that anybody running faster than them must be because of cheating, course measuring issues, or doping.

That's White Collar Runners.
At the time, most of those guys were among the best runners in the NCAA. Blue Collar Runners would be relatable to the Common Man.
For those who are curious what his training was like leading up to the race...Unfortunately he doesn't appear to categorize it for workouts or long runs but that's the mileage and his account is public so you can view any run you want.

Holy crap. Get this kid a coach. That's super impressive. Pretty sure a whole host of post collegiates in my area would love to have that time.
Showing my age here...
2:24 is a decent time, but it's not all that super impressive. A 15:00 5k runner should be able to run around 2:24.
The fact that many 13:10 runners today can only run 2:14 is what I find bizarre.
Totally agree, there needs to be a dbag filter to sceen out the idiotic comments. Good for your boy for killing his race!
Pedantic maybe but... wrote:

Should this have been a disqualification? I'm sure we could all run 2:23 without the race number weighing us down.
If you look at the race photos, he had it pinned on his ass...seriously!

A couple more observations:
- there does look to be a bike behind him that would presumably have seen any course cutting
- his shoes look completely busted and heavy for racing (I guess to complement the rest of the outfit)
- the course is legit, it's flat and can be fast but has a lot of turns and can be windy
Also looks like there is some writing on his left forearm.
For the doubters my nephew had his number on the back of his shorts. If you have never won a race you might not be aware that the lead cyclist was with him the whole time. His father placed 7 th in the CDA Ironman on his first attempt at any triathlon with the fastest amateur split of the day in the marathon at the age of 50 a few years ago. Many runners/ triathletes have a stud effort on their first attempt at an event. Just because you do not have the time or race entry fees to race all the time does not mean you are not a committed or exceptional runner. This is one of the finest, kindest and most honest young men you will ever meet.

You must be new here.

Again, you're a rookie here. All those traits you cited will get ridiculed. I
Same folks think Sarah Sellers cheated somehow.
He ran by me (Its an out an back). I thought the same thing, but saw his number was pinned onto his butt.
I can't see any of his workouts there. Can someone post some key workouts?

To you and all friends/family of Leif: I am telling you guys right now, just move on. A few people were surprised that someone with Leif's experience ran so fast, and given the chip malfunction, a few people were skeptical. But obviously the GPS data shows all times were legitimate, so there is no controversy here. Take the initial disbelief as a compliment and don't add any logs to this fire.
Leif may well be a topic of discussion on these forums moving forward given his talent level, and the LAST thing you want to do is make him a target of an anonymous message board. Trust me - that will always be an unwinnable battle. The best thing you can do is to just leave this thread completely alone - it's in Leif's best interests.

Probably a reminder to drink
Looking at the mat splits, everyone was behind him from mile 1, so seemed the correct bib placement. LOL
Another one of Leifs teammates here.
We are interested in this shirt. Would love to have Leif wear it next time he races. Can you send it to me if I give you my address?
Also taking short shorts donations.
