She shouldn’t be forced to alter anything. she should not be allowed to race against average females either. Have a separate category for those with her affliction

Force all female athletes to take T instead.

What about others like Dafne Schippers, Niyonsaba, Wambui, Dutee Chand..........................
Ha, yes....I was just going to post about Schippers. It's interesting that because she's white and more feminine-normative that she hasn't got the kind of scrutiny Semenya has, though to the naked eye it appears she may have high(er) T levels. Allegedly.
Why do you think some divisions exist? To maximize entertainment value? To encourage participation (which we must presumably value) in identifiable groups who otherwise might not want to participate due to lack of competitiveness?
Besides weight divisions and male/female divisions, what other divisions exist in sport? What other divisions ought to exist and why?
She will move to the 200 and 5000 and dominate like the goat she is
That dude should have to compete with the men.

It's absurd that we still even have separate men's and women's events.
Why is it absurd?
Semenya will still win at the 2019 world champs even if they force her to take pills.
The last time she was taking hormone therapy, she still won gold (after Savinova was disqualified )

Because gender is not binary.

On this note I do agree with you. But I carry that to mean Semenya should not be able to compete with women. She should have to compete in an open division against men or else find some other category for competition. It's entirely unfair to the majority of women who don't naturally have levels close to Semenya. Semenya is quite unique.
Which has better odds, Semenya being beaten in the next World Championships 800 or a white guying winning the next World Championships 100?
Should we make black men, who on average have higher testosterone levels than every other race, also take some sort of drug to reduce their testosterone levels? And what should we reduce them down to being equal to, that of a Japanese man?
What about throwers that have naturally very high testosterone levels? Should they have to be equivalent to that of a distance runners?
Removing one's natural advantages is absurd. May as well only let guys who are 5'10" or shorter play in the NBA; everyone else has to have their legs cut off so they aren't any taller than that.

If her levels are natural, how did she unfairly beat anyone? I hope she sues and makes $$$$$$$$$
She unfairly beat people because she's physiologically a man competing in women's events.
It's not actually that complicated.
The fact that she says that she's a woman and all that stuff is not even relevant. It's not about sociology, it's physiology.
Drugs to suppress Semenya is step one. Step two is to turn all male runners into geldings. Step three, no gender categories post castration. Not so funny anymore!

It is binary and clear-cut for most people. Only 1 in 1500 people are intersex. That's why they have separate events.
It's not just his testosterone level but his Y-chromosome. Either we create a whole new category for them, or we should just eliminate the women's division.

To be fair, gender and sex aren't the same.

I said things like that on Facebook too, and I got blocked by some guys.
there should be only the category human either way. same chance and price for everyone. the best humans win. why do arbitrary categories like men or women?
Can we talk for a second about how this rule CLEARLY targets Semenya? There is absolutely no rationale for applying this rule to those specific events. I disagree with the rule in general, but if you're going to do it, apply it to everything.
This is a problem and will probably figure in the CAS verdict rejecting the ruling (as they rejected it before when Dutee Chand appealed). There is a paper trying to show in which disciplines elevated testosterone helps the most or where female athletes with particularly high levels were found. This includes 400m, 400Hurdles, Hammer throw and pole vault, all of which supposedly have a higher advantage from high testosterone than 800m.
