Distraction from the video that has Mo's training partner purchasing EPO and mentioning the name "Mo Farah" clear as a new syringe.
I believe Dibaba's recent diarrhea exit was a similar tactic.
Where is this video?

Are they arm warmers or some new aerodynamic thing?
If only we knew a journalist that covered running events then maybe he or she could ask Mo WTF he was doing.

Triathletes have been wearing arm sleeves for years in hot weather. The idea is to keep the arms cooler through increased moisture wicking...they also have sunblock on them, and provide mild compression. The sleeves don't seem to be as ubiquitous as they were a few years ago. For races like the real Ironman in Hawaii, many of the pros will wear them just for the sun protection since you're on the course for roughly 9 hours.

Any studies done on performance benefits? Could they cut maybe a couple seconds off per mile? ? That would shave off about ~52 seconds over the course of a marathon - a real game changer at the top elite level. ?

That's right. It's not to sell more products. For whatever reason Nike doesn't sell things like this (guessing it's not their normal arm warmer) or even the singlets that the top elites wear. I remember Rupp wore that tape at the Trials a couple years back and that's still nowhere to be found.

Kipchoge wears it on his lower legs for every marathon since breaking2, including yesterday.

Here's Rupp's tape. You're right- it'll never be sold to the public. However, the dri-fit arm warmers on Farah were stock on nike.com about a year ago, I believe.

Why do beduins wear a keffiyeh?
I thought they were arm coolers. I often see triathletes use them to help cool their bodies. As far as I know they work only when the air is dry.

I think Nike is missing out. Anyone who is a sub-3 hour marathoner or on the cusp of a BQ would be looking for something to give them just a little bit more of an edge over 26.2 (whether placebo or not). Someone who has run 2:40 in the marathon would purchase that stuff if it might mean 2:39. Nike did a good job with the 4%'s but my gripe is that running is a sport where people we might not consider elite still are in the sport and can qualify for the Olympic Trials but can't buy the same gear that the top elites wear. I can go to the YMCA and play basketball once a week and wear everything that Lebron James wears. In T&F, Nike doesn't sell the singlets the top runners wear. I would rock a BTC singlet or whatever the top folks were wearing on Sunday but I can't. Other sports, you can just buy jerseys.
Anyways, I'm saying I want that tape. It would be cool to have and to experiment with.
I can't believe no one is comparing them to the high socks worn by Shalane and others.
Same idea?
