Any videos of race? Would love to see what Kerr can do in a properly paced DL race. Do people feel he is already better than Wightman?

Nope, that was NCAA indoors over 3000m. Knight has a better PR than Clayton Murphy and has never even run this event at NCAAs before. He’ll be happy with this, and he also just PRd by over 3 seconds.
He should be embarrassed he got crushed by a younger collegian. He tapered for this race and thought he was going to win. He tried so hard but he just doesn't have speed.
0/10. If you’re gonna troll at least make a good attempt.
Kerr should run in Pre!!

He's only a junior!! He's got another whole year to lower the record further....What a talent!
Hopefully New Mexico still sponsors men's track by that time!
It was a pretty magic event, by all accounts. Fans got by the track, both sides, to form a chute and cheer them on.
We need a video!

I thought Knight was the next big thing. The superstar. What happened?
Knight is most likely going to end up more of a 5k/10k guy. He just ran 3:36, many years that would be the fastest collegiate time for the year. I wouldn't say he is shaping up to be a failure. Let's wait and see what he does.
Knight is already a 5k guy. The guy asking "What happened?" is an idiot or simply not very good at being a troll. Great run by Knight. Kerr has a lot of potential. And the number of fast frosh at that meet was an eye-opener.

How is 3:35 the college record? Didn't Jim Ryun run 3:33 as a college sophomore?
Didn't Lagat run 3:30 whilst in college?
I don't see how Jim Ryun is the holder of any collegiate records unless you twist the rules to make it so.
ll?
There are no riles on this.
I thought Merber had the record in 2012? Someone needs to run faster than Ryun's time during the season so we can stop having an asterisk next to the collegiate 1500 record. I think Centro "had" the record too in 2011.
Where s Chuo University?
How in the world is Josh Kerr able to run so fast whilst being so big and kinda fat? He must have a gigantic heart to be able to pump all that blood.
Stunned that the NCAA record time is so mediocre. Honestly would have expected it around 3:32 or lower.
Who is this Domanic guy? Is he a US guy or foreign?
The video is locked behind a paywall.

Yeah same, especially since collegiate records in other events are some of the best times in the world. I remember Nick Willis ran 3:32 the summer before his senior year at Michigan in 2004 when he was 21. 3:35 is fast but isn’t even typically top 30 in the world. 3:35.01 last year would have been #37 in the world.

Wightman has won a diamond league, and got bronze in the commies in a tactical 3:35 with a blistering last 300m. Not even close in my opinion.
Surely Lagat wouldn't have actually graduated by June? Graduation ceremonies are later. You finish college when you are handed your degree.
Top Freshman in the 1500m:
7 Brown, Reed FR-1 Oregon 3:39.56 Bryan Clay Invitational (College/University) Apr 19, 2018
8 Suliman, Waleed FR-1 Ole Miss 3:39.76 Bryan Clay Invitational (College/University) Apr 19, 2018 (also ran 1:47)
11 Worley, Sam FR-1 Texas 3:40.00 Bryan Clay Invitational (College/University) Apr 19, 2018
Also notable at the 5000m:
7 Teare, Cooper FR-1 Oregon 13:46.46 Bryan Clay Invitational (College/University) Apr 19, 2018
10 Grijalva, Luis FR-1 Northern Arizona 13:49.75 Stanford Invitational Mar 30, 2018 (in the 1500 rankings as well around 3:41)
14 Veatch, Ben FR-1 Indiana 13:50.49 Stanford Invitational Mar 30, 2018
Pretty notable from this meet were the three freshmen above, Brown, Suliman, and Worley. Brown was already sub 4 in the mile in high school and Worley was very close, but both have improved significantly already this year, while Suliman has improved by leaps and bounds and surely has as bright a future as any of these guys with the 1:47 as well. Cooper Teare isn't in the 1500m list but with 13:46 strength to go with his sub 4 indoors, he is probably 3:38-39 material right now. Ben Veatch is a redshirt freshman in track in his second year in college. Grijalva, born in Guatemala (must be among the best ever born there), ran 4:02/8:46 last year in California and is in great hands at NAU.

Grijalva now owns the National record in the
1500 3:41.21 (old record 3:44.44)
and 5000 13:49.75 (old record 13:55.90)
What is his date of birth? Is he still a junior this year? Can he represent Guatemala at world juniors?
