The altitude makes it harder to develop hypothermia in the lungs, the root cause for Rupp's asthma at Boston.

Fair enough. I’ll give this a go tomorrow. It’s supposed to be equally as crappy weather as it has been today and I’ve got a 20 mile long run to do. I’ll report back with my results.

OP, I'm also from Colorado. I ran all 26.2 and it was pretty miserable. Don't make fun of anyone especially if you weren't there. Show some class or leave this state, we don't need you.

Not begrudging anyone dropping out on Monday.

Rupp ran nearly twice the distance you did before dropping out. Some of the African dropouts even longer than that. How on Earth would this mean you are tougher?

Even though you dropped at 11 miles, I'm sure you spent quite a bit more time running which makes you tough stuff. Congratulations on being tougher than Mr. Rupp, the most hated (on LetsRun) most talented (back in reality) American distance runner.

Funny how people think everyone but themselves is an idiot or a wimp. A, you ran at most 5.5 miles actually facing the wind. B, you had light rain instead of a downpour. C, you started a thread on letsrun in order to try to make other people feel bad about themselves or boost your own ego. So no, you don't win badass of the year. Better luck next time.

I got it at mile 23.

1)The wind was more 25mph average with gusts to 40.

2)Were you wearing race kit?

3)Did you turn around at 5.5 miles and run with the wind at your back?
