Is Elon Musk Update??

Tesla hasn’t gone into details about why it wants to acquire battery technology company Maxwell, but almost 2 months after announcing the acquisition, the deal has yet to close and it is now extending the deadline.
Last month, Tesla announced the acquisition of the San Diego-based ultracapacitor and battery company Maxwell for over $200 million in stock.

Researchers from Keen Labs in China, one of the most widely respected cybersecurity research groups in the world, have successfully hacked a Tesla Model S autopilot system and forced the car to drive into an oncoming lane. The wiley white hat hackers developed different forms of attack to confuse and disrupt the Tesla autopilot lane recognition system. Using just three strategically placed stickers, the researchers were able to create a “fake lane.” For instance, when the stickers were placed at an intersection, hackers could fool the Tesla into thinking the lane continued into what was actually the oncoming lane. “Our experiments proved that this architecture has security risks and reverse-lane recognition is one of the necessary functions for autonomous driving in non-closed roads,” the Keen Labs wrote in a paper.
https://www.rt.com/news/455341-chinese-hackers-tesla-autopilot/A Tesla spokesperson told RT.com that the research is “not a realistic concern,” however, as the driver can easily override the autopilot system to avoid crashing into oncoming traffic as a result of some maliciously-placed stickers.
"Although this report isn’t eligible for an award through our bug bounty program, we know it took an extraordinary amount of time, effort, and skill, and we look forward to reviewing future reports from this group.”
Electric is still horrible for the environment.
https://www.rt.com/business/455329-tesla-fine-hazardous-waste/Electric carmaker Tesla will pay a $31,000 fine and spend a total of $86,000, as part of a settlement with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) over hazardous waste violations at its California base.
Apart from the penalty, Elon Musk’s company is obliged to purchase $55,000 in emergency response equipment for the City of Fremont Fire Department, the EPA said in a statement on Monday. The agency added that the move can help to improve the department's ability to respond to hazardous materials incidents.
“I found a new source of pain. Analysts, talking about things. Holy mackerel, where these guys get their ideas from, or where they get their information from is beyond me, but I can tell you one thing for sure. I know they didn’t tear apart one of these cars. I know they don’t really look at what it is that’s going on. I’m sure they’re good readers. Readers are leaders, but sometimes, they’re liars,” Munro noted.
Munro related that he has personally dealt with some of these bad data in the past. Emphasizing his point, the teardown expert stated that some of the assumptions being thrown about the company are flat-out untrue.
“Quite frankly, I’ve been on a few of these little shows and somebody says, ‘Well, you know, such-and-such from wherever says this.’ And I’m sitting there and going, ‘Ah, that’s not true.’ ‘Well, he said it was.’ I said ‘Oh, it’s not true.’ And then I’ll reach over like, I’ve got my books right over here. Somebody says something that I know is not true, I’ve got pictures, I’ve got numbers, I got data up the yin-yang. There’s nobody gonna argue with me, that’s for sure. And if I don’t know the answer, I got a whole 90 guys that’ll (be) happy to tell you which ends up. These other guys, I don’t know, I think it’s web searches and blogs and who knows, I don’t know. But it ain’t, it’s not for real,” Munro said.

Makes total sense, that you have to camp while charging your batteries.
It’s a crisis that has been concealed from the vast majority of the population … The danger really came home to me when I met up with an affluent, long-time Melbourne acquaintance who lives in a street where there are six Tesla cars. When they all try to charge their batteries at the same time, the power goes out in the street because the grid fails. Sometimes it fails when only three or four of them try to charge at the same time.

The CEO now says that a Model 3’s body and drive unit can last up to 1 million miles while the battery can last up to 500,000 miles and he says that battery module replacements will be made available.
Much has been said about the potential longevity of Tesla’s vehicles.
With the company still being relatively young for an automaker, we have a limited set of data to look into the longevity of Tesla’s vehicles.

Elon Musk claims a lot. I wouldn't believe any of it.
