Thanks to a disagreement between Tesla and a German regulator, more than 800 German customers who purchased the Tesla Model S will need to repay the government-backed purchase subsidy that European regulators have insisted upon - for fully electric vehicles, that amount equals roughly $5,000.
The Ispytsla Twitter cameraman is apparently the same guy that films Bigfoot videos.. Holy crap man! It can't be the that hard to take a video...

That's the most Tesla hype I've ever seen.
As I just alluded to, Nissan has sold and delivered over 300,000 Leafs already which makes it the world's best selling electric car and they did this whilst offering an entire range of other vehicles.
I'd actually be slightly suprised if Tesla ever delivers 300,000 Model 3s despite all their pre-orders.
June plug in EV sales in the US:
Model 3 : 6062 cars
Model S: 2750 cars
Model X: 2550 cars
Prius: 2237 cars
Honda PHEV: 1445 cars
Leaf: 1367 cars
Volt: 1336 cars
Model 3 sold 5X more than the Leaf in the US in June
Tesla models ranked 1, 2 and 3 in June
Not sure how you can compare the success of the Leaf to the model 3 (or Tesla in general). We are talking multiples here. The Leaf sold 6659 cars in the US in the first 6 months of the year. That's approx what the Model 3 sold in the month of June.
Well you've paraphrased my post there, but I was replying to an article that says nobody else but Tesla has ever made an affordable electric car that has got hundreds of thousands of orders (AKA Tesla hype). But they forgot or deliberately overlooked the Leaf, of which there are over 300,000 actually on the roads. Not orders. That's how you can compare it, there's simply 5x more Leafs on the road right now.
Besides, basic math shows Tesla needs to sell at that rate for 50+ months to catch up to Nissan, who are selling cars also. Not that I care who sells more it's merely an observation of the market.
The Leaf is currently more successful than the Model 3 until the model 3 overtakes it, perhaps in 3 or so years. If it transpires that the Model 3 is a pile of crap and next year sales drop sharply then the Leaf will remain more successful. You don't get to count success on predicted longterm sales. Got to actually deliver cars.
I hope everyone has seen the news that from 2019 or so Tesla will have run out of its' US government rebate. The rebate is around $7500. Germany has already stopped the Tesla rebate and is requiring customers to pay it back even.
Where is this $35,000 Model 3? I feel it may end up being a small production run.
It seems that they are trying to hit weekly production of 6000 Model 3 next week.
14,250 Model 3 produced in July...
What were you saying?
7th best selling car model in the US in July. Only Toyota, Honda and Nissan had better selling models in July (ahead of Hyundai and Kia). No US manufacturer had a better selling model than Tesla. The Ford Fusion is the next best model sold by a US manufacturer (10th with 10,822 units sold).
Next target for Tesla is Nissan. The Model 3 was not very far behind the Sentra (19,362 units) and Altima (16,015 units). Who knows, maybe as soon as August.
Glad to finally see a US car manufacturer competing with the Asian manufacturers.
Thanks Donald.
To be fair, those sales for Tesla should be averaged out to include all the wait list time...

There never was and there never will be a $35,000 Model. Tesla is probably not even making money with the $49,000 version.
I think by now the rest of the car industry is quite relaxed. Tesla will blow up soon. The end is near.
https://money.cnn.com/2018/08/01/news/companies/tesla-earnings-walkup/index.htmlObviously that cheap skate customer (and at least one other) did not opt in for the All Weather Package.
The powers that be are launching an all out assault on this guy from echo chamber media attacks to corporate espionage and destruction.
He has to bring this thing private if he wants any chance at success. The combo of short sellers/day traders and the internet are making launching this company too difficult.
Yeah, keep drinking that Musky Koolaid- you're gonna choke on it and die..
Well managed high tech (and low tech) companies go public in order to grow: Google, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, IBM, HP, Compaq, etc...
