Flotrack tried to make fun of Around The Horn's Boston Marathon segment on Twitter for "not watching the race", then gets murdered when Toni Reali actually responds.
What a bunch of clowns!

could you provide a link or video of what exactly it is that he responded?

This link above goes right to the response
Flotrack can eat my sweaty minge.
I am so tired of the goofy a$$ flotrack guys. They constantly make fools out of themselves.
This made me really happy to read. I've been a long run watcher of that show and never knew Reali had such strong ties to running. He made some great points as well when talking about them saying that hurts the growth of the sport. Love it, screw you flo track!
What flotrack did is no different than what the vast majority of posters on this site do all the time.

Those are great points and I love Reali for how he responded. I do think you are getting a bit into something I have seen on this site where it is a letsrun vs. Flotrack thing and I have to ask if you think the majority of letsrun message board posters help the growth of the sport? I think a lot of the things the Brojos do are straight out of clown college but they do really want to see the sport grow and that is reflected in their coverage of events and their critiques of coverage in the larger media as a whole. This message board on the other hand is a cesspool and I have seen many comments where posters do not want to see the sport grown to a level on par with other major/semi-major sports and want their own little niche where they can ridicule others for not knowing about it and never try to make it appealing to a larger audience.
It would not surprise me in the least to go do a search and find that Flotrack stole the idea of their tweet from a post on the letsrun message boards.
Reali and the rest of the ATH guys know volumes more than the expert Larry Rawson, so give it a rest. No issue at all with Tony.
Very true. I think it is understood that most online message boards are a cesspool of sorts. LetsRun certainly fits into that category. Flotrack, on the other hand, prides itself on being the leader in producing video content related to running. And not only do they produce content, they own the rights to broadcasting many of the major running events. Because Flotrack has all that power, they do need to be more responsible, and their immaturity shows often.
Totally agree Flotrack is incredibly immature. They are likely only able to survive because running is a niche sport that has not caught on in the mainstream, if it did they would be out of business in about 2 minutes.
Maybe it is in their best interest to keep it that way? Attacking a mainstream media company for covering running is certainly one way to do that.

Great point. Know your enemy. Rawson is the enemy.

Maybe but there is a big difference between the social media presence of FloTrack and registered users of LRC posting on the board.
My favorite part of the whole thing was the 1863 WR talk.

My #1 pet-peeve about the messageboard - and I see it less than I used to but it still happens- is people act like you can't talk about anything running related unless you were extremely fast yourself. You basically have no right to talk about anyone faster than yourself.
The idea that runners think they are superior to others is what he's mocking and what so many runners don't even realize is a thing.
For the record, I was wondering if that was actually the mile WR in 1863. It was not. The amateur record was 4:33 (amateur) and 4:21 pro.
tough that he pronounced Shalane's last name wrong tho
Yup. I haven't been a fan of Flotrack for a while. The goofy guys come off as stupid and unauthentic. Then there is the whole thing about them almost completely dominating USATF and NCAA coverage and heavily monetizing it.
I hope their company fails.
FloTrack (FloSports) is also changing the face of high school track and cross country as well.
They own Milesplit which covers a lot of the high school track scene. It is ruining the grassroots of the sport. There are no rivalries since the focus is completely on posting fast times on their Milesplit page. Kids think if they can't make the front page of their states Milesplit website they are useless. It grows the top end of the sport, but kills the developmental section of the sport. Everyone compares them self to the best in the country and they feel dejected.
I coach high school and a kid is coming back from injury and not in top shape. Just want her to get a race in as a workout and as a way to get back on the track racing. But she had the response of, "I don't want to run that because it will go on my milesplit page!" That is all the kids care about... FloSports is changing the way track is viewed.
I'm not a fan of Flo owning Milesplit either, but this is a pathetic reason to feel that way.

Screw flotrack especially that tool Billy McDevitt.
