Desi showing that Midwest grittiness. I love it!
She is from SoCal.
Wait - I just remembered.
SHE STOPPED FOR SHALANE AND SHE'S STILL DESTROYING THE FIELD.
GOAT.
ALBERTO: Galen is in the best shape of his life!
REALITY: Galen staggers off the road and dies.
What kind of shoes is Des wearing?
.. she's starting to achieve separation....LOL! It's like a space launch! Keep it coming guys! this is my only feed on the race here at work.
She's looking pretty good for the win. She's a strong, gutsy runner and this day demands that.
Huddle in 4th.
Desi still has 3 miles to go. Gotta hold on.
I just heard the words, "..tending to her whiskey collection" during her break from running.
Looks like we might have a lot more elites trying out whiskey during off-season ;)

Damn. I should have picked Des. Ross Tucker's note to me implied the really thin women wouldn't do well. Michigan trained. Tough as nails.
Get the black page ready.
I came close to picking her this morning as I thought the weather would F*** everything up. But somehow I figured one of the other American women would bring there game so I picked her 3rd.
I think she wins by over a minute.
Kawauchi is 2nd in men's race. I was tempted to pick him 2nd as well with same logic but figured that others had to bring their "A" game so I slotted him 3rd.
Ballers.
Apparently if Des wins it would be very celebratory. Who knew?
Remember when a lot of posters were saying that Desi is not in the same league as Shalane, Molly, and Jordan?
Wasn't that just yesterday?
Kawauchi 1'27" ish back from Kirui.

Desi dropping is the least surprising thing ever, you don't wait around for other competitors you aren't a teammate of if you are on your A game
Bump
Kawauchi in 2nd place. What a race!

Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
