Apparently the announcer has never met Galen Rupp.
That’s in lieu of “the white boy.”

Rupp falling off the back of lead pack?
I recall him saying he was too aggressive last year on the hills; not sure if this is his reaction to that or if he's falling off...
Is anyone thinking one of these Yuki Surges™ will working and the rubber band will snap? Is that his strategy?
Kirui is surging and Rupp is falling off at the moment. This is a BIG MOVE from Kirui. He's got about 15 meters on chasers and a lot more on Rupp.
Why didn't anyone go with Desi and the other woman? I don't get it.
I would give my life for Kawauchi.
"Peleton" for these golfers today out here on the baseball diamond...
Yeah Rupp is over

kawauchi is playing mind games. his IQ is much higher than the rest of the field, he knows how to break them.
dude just called the women's pack a peloton. wtf.
Serious question: could athletes legally change shoes during the race, like they change hats?
I think Rupp is out...can't see him
1:24 Rupp has dropped back. He's in 11th. Trying to hang on to lead pack.
Rupp does not look good right now. Kirui looks magnificent.
Chesir (2nd) pulling away from Linden.
My coworker was telling me how he pictured marathons. People pulling away in the lead, getting tired, getting passed and then getting a second wind and catching back up.
No. That doesnt happen. The elites run in a pack and then when someone gets tired, they fall off the back never to be heard from again
This is like what he described. Yuki in the lead for the 4th time. Shalane leaving to take a dump. Desi drops back to help her catch back up then dies off looking like shes done, only to lead the charge back. This race is pute chaos

I'm probably just being overly optimistic and a Rupp fan, but I think/hope it is him just trying to save something.

I''VE BEEN AMAZED. FOR YEARS, i'VE ALWAYS SAID, I CAN BE SITTING AT HOME AND KNOW MORE ABOUT WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE RACE THAN THE PEOPLE BROADCASTING.
Why can't you and WeJo do a live stream of the race next year? That might be fun.
Like a podcast or something.

Lol oh, were you trying to dispute that this website is absolute trash? Or just saying I have no friends? Or are you just good with the casual racism, sexism, general bigotry that normal humans have to tolerate in order to follow a race on this website...?
I know when to let things go. There is a difference between humor and those things you mentioned. Things should be taken in context. Not all places are political fora, nor is moral grandstanding appropriate, or worthwhile, everywhere, at every time.
I'm turning Japanese....I really think so.
