And who is breaking the wind for the chasers?

Rupp missed his bottle just after the 10k mark.
He went for it and dropped it on the ground.
Men are on a ridiculous 2:07 pace in this weather. Sure the first part is downhill but they are bringing it thanks to Kawauichi gettting them going .
It's okay, Salazar just darted him from the crowd. Ruppie will be fine.

rip kawauchi, i really wanted you do win...but that first mile
I know that was crazy 437 first mile, I wanted him to do well, he is toast now

If Rupp PRs in this weather, he is officially the greatest GOAT of all time.
Why? His PRs are slow relative to his talent level

Oh good we can spend another half hour talking about Meb, who isn't even competing, instead of covering either the men or women's lead.
IT's a joke. Elite pro races have been going on for almost an hour. Has anyone pointed out the women are going out really slow but the men went out in 2:07 pace?
They've even told stories about Meb's wife.
Tola taking all the wind. Kirui seems like hes been doing a poor job of drafting and getting a ton of wind. Rupp being sure to draft, but he missed his bottle

Except that his PRs overall are probably much faster than anyone else in this race.

I guess we'll see how good the Vaporfly 4% are in the rain and on really wet roads...
that's the thing about the vapors, they completely isolate your foot, you are running on a carbon spring, so inside the "weather is fine"
and you can be sure the elites have more than 4% in their custom tuned versions

I thought the 5 year Meb Retirement Tour ended!

Galen drops his bottle!
Salazar forgot to add hand-eye coordination to Rupp's training regimen.

Having slow PRs but great finishes in big races is a good thing, it means you're a gamer.

What does that even mean?
Bekele is probably sitting in his luxury home in exotic, sunny Ethiopia, laughing at this race(imagining how much faster his world record will be in London, then this race). I don't know why anybody would run the Boston marathon. It is a crap place to run.
How does it help the sport that this race is only available at a pay level? Outside of Boston that is...
James Obrien is the only commentator making sense and naming out all the players in the pack!
Who's laughing at Galen "2:09 guy" Rupp now? Put him in the middle of a brutal Noreaster and he'll still run 2:09!
Looks like another day in the PNW for Rupp. With most front runners wearing coats, etc it almost looks like a training run. Where does huddle train? I know she grew up in Michigan.

Unfortunately, it's very likely. But add me to the list of people who'd love to see Kawauchi win this.
zero chance of that happening, OK maybe if everyone else falls down
Well, now we'll have to wait for a chimney or something to fall on the leaders. With that wind, you never know.
