The self-promotion and odd "record" attempts have created a lot of animosity toward Tyler, and sponsored puff pieces like this from the BroJos are more fuel for the hate fire. I think TA is a good person, but there is something off about his approach to the sport. He's like Mike Wardian with way less self-awareness.
Wow, really surprised by the animosity towards Tyler on this board. What did he do to deserve this kind of hate lol?
FWIW, I've been following the guy for the last 2 years and he seems like a straight-up typical runner who goes for his dreams, whatever that is to him (and let's be honest, not everyone can aspire to be Eliud Kipchoge and try to break the WR). Dude is doing his best with what he's got, don't see anything wrong with that. If you feel that running 5:15/mile pace to break a 50K WR is incredibly soft, go on and show us how it's done.
But sitting on your ass and spouting vile comments on a thread (which sadly looks like peak LetsRun culture btw) which is supposedly intended to give positive exposure to a record attempt, however odd it is, isn't the way to go.
Something must've happened for you to carry this amount of ill-will towards TA. What is it?
