It's interesting to see the Jamaican dominate in a 3,000m. We are used to seeing the country lead in the sprints up to 200m. It is something very different.
That's because she is from Illinois. Illinois is know for producing many good distance runners. Many of the best HS boys this year are from Illinois and think Jager and Derrick.
What a farce. Cant make the us team, just switch nations.
I’m pretty sure she is in the top 3 of American steeplechasers... Emma, Courtney and Aisha—-and not necessarily in that order.
You do know her biological father is a Jamaican Reggae star (Joseph Blue Grant)? It's not much of a farce.
She has shown great improvement since switching nations. She was an average high school and college runner. She now is in the mix with the Americans and I wonder if we will see another switch in allegiance.
I don't know why biology should determine nationality. Almost no Americans show up as American in a DNA test. Her father is from Illinois. When you have to add an adjective before the term, it is not accurate.

She has a very good chance to make a US team at the level she is running right now.
I could care less about nation switching at this point. You have a very short window to compete as a top level pro. They are maximizing their opportunities while they can. In fact, it's probably better for their careers to switch nations and make teams, as repeatedly not making US teams is not liked by many sponsors.
I also consider the focus on competing nations in athletics to be nonsense. I feel like the point of that is to enrich the governing bodies at the expense of the athletes. National identities are kinda BS as well, often used by powerful entities to manipulate the population.
I believe she went the Jamaica route when she wasn't as good ... Timeline escapes me. Obviously the improvement really came when she started training w/ Emma.
But now she can say she's a CG champion, and doesn't have to go through the U.S. trials to make a team, like someone else said.
Curious what a UA contract pays.

No, she has shown great improvement since leaving Eugene.

Aisha would have her hands full with Emma, Courtney, and Colleen. I'm not saying she couldn't squeeze in, but our women's steeple team is pretty stacked.
Another major T&F medal for the state of Illinois!

Biological father from Jamaica, born in Wisconsin, grew up in Illinois. This is all common knowledge if you have followed her switch to Jamaica a few years ago. Please know your facts if your going to post statements.
Not sure what point you are making or why you are being abrasive. I think she is a great runner who could probably make the US team. You didn't understand the point. No facts were mis-stated. Her father lives in Moline. Her biological father is from Jamaica. That is what I meant about adding an adjective before father. The US records will tell you that her legal father is in Illinois. I am a big advocate of adoption and like to give credit where it is due, that is to the person who drove her to all of those practices while she was growing up.
With whom did she train before Emma and Joe?
Fantastic win. Just imagine how good she'd be if she weren't coached by an entitled, unqualified millennial. Bosshard is clearly holding her back.
Aisha is awesome. Congrats on the CWG win. Way to represent Moline and Illinois!!!
Great indoor campaign for her, was in great shape before London last year but got injured, and yes, her improvement has come with the move from Oregon to Colorado to train with Emma Coburn. This is a very impressive victory even this early in the year. Cheesesteak Chespol is a huge talent. Outstanding, I couldn't be happier for Praught-Leer even because she chose to represent Jamaica and give them a second very good (now great) distance runner.
