Racing with legit racing sunglasses - ok I'll tolerate it. But racing it with a stylish pair you put on at the beach to try to get laid? I'm calling a technical on that.
And then he kept them on for the victory lap? Double technical.
All technicals will be rescinded if I hear he has one of those weird eye conditions. Otherwise he's violated one of the unwritten rules of track and field in my opinion.

Why the hell was Mo Ahmed wearing sunglasses during the CG 10k race and medal ceremony? Blatant violation of unwritten rules

I'm betting you're loads of fun at parties.
Can we guess what you do for a living? I'll go first:
CPA? Librarian? -

It's actually cool to NOT be fun at parties these days. That insult is actually a complement. -
I will wear shades wear I damn well please and furthermore if Al and his boys have exemptions for thyroid I will feign a light sensitivity and do whatever the hell I please.

Who cares if somebody races in sunglasses? It is hardly the first time somebody has done that.

A complement to what? -
Sunglasses are awesome for racing. No emotion whatsoever.

Best report this violation of unwritten rules to the invisible people of the non existent governing body.

It was an homage to the great Canadian, Corey Hart.

Those people are all wearing racing glasses. I've never seen anyone where a pair of stylish glasses like Ahmed. Opens up a whole new set of sponsorship possibilities but I doubt it's very aerodynamic. -
In the past few years cycling has also seen a lot of riders wearing a variety of glasses styles. Sponsors have a large assortment and I doubt the "racing style" is any faster than "stylish" ones.
-
After years of people on this board griping that distance runners are not paid enough, now we get a thread about how a guy getting paid to wear a sponsor's sunglasses didn't pick an appropriate style of shades.

Sounds like another sad person being angered by someone trying to LIVE THEIR OWN LIFE. You probably never broke 20 min in the 5k, never will. Chin up chap. -

Correction: said poster is lame and boring. Although they’ll probably try to find a way to make that a compliment too. -

American Fork cross country often wears stylish sunglasses. Casey Clinger wore them in many track races as well. -
Wejo, call up some pics of Canadian marathon NR-holder Jerome Drayton. Often wore the aviator style. So does this current ski ace from Norway (see middle skier):
