Not the best week
Mon - 8x300 w/ 1:30 rest each rep and 5:00 after 4 @ 52 53 50 49 - 55 61 57 60 was supposed to be cut downs, just went too hard, dumb mistake
Tues - 4 mi easy
Wed - 8x200 start at 200 and walk back rest w/ 4 min rest after 4 @
35 34 33.5 32 - 34.5 32.5 31 27
Felt great and last 200 was about 120m - 160m all out
Thurs - 7 mi easy
Fri - 3 mi easy
Sat - Off
Sun - Off
Took the weekend off because of my hip, I wouldn’t have been able to do my long run and was busy so I iced. 300s weren’t very good, but my 200s felt great. Definitely more of an 800 guy right now after an injury full winter. Spring break was fun though. First league meet on Wednesday against a very bad school, only good runner is a 2:11 800 guy and I’m hoping to keep up or beat him and then PR in the 4x400. Hope everyone else had a good week!
Not so wonderful a week for me either. My biggest problem right now is that I'm getting pretty intense shin splints in my left leg, in the same spot where it got very bad nearing the end of XC season. I just really hope there's no stress fracture in my future. I am allergic to mileage. Two meets this week, going to hit the elliptical a little more in place of running. Been icing, eating turmeric like a fiend, etc.
M: 40 min aquajogging + 50 min treadmill run @7:50
T: 3 x (800, 1200) @ 2:39 avg, 4:06 avg, 2 min rest for all + lifting. Lifts improving I think. Learned how to hang clean recently.
W: yoga w/ team, 33 min elliptical moderate
Th: 40 min @8:30
F: 12 x 200 @31 avg w/ 1 min walk rest, then another to pace a friend + lifting
Sat: 30 min @10:00 (whole team jogged together) + 27 min elliptical
Weekly total: 23.0 mi, + 1 hr 40 min x-training
My ridiculously injury prone body is frustrating me, but it is what it is. It'll be hard to fit workouts in this week with meets on both Wednesday and Saturday, but we'll see.
Oof, tough weeks posted so far.
As for me:
M: 45 min easy & strides
T: Tough but pretty solid workout, described below.
W: 40 min easy
Th: Dual meet. Mentally didn't treat this right and didn't take it seriously, didn't go with my team's pack on the mile and followed behind for some reason, ran 5:07 not trying, then ran 2:20 in an 800 (was trying harder, but I'm an awful 800 guy). We don't face a lot of competition in these, but I blame myself for not thinking of this as a race.
F: 45 min easy & strides
S: Invitational cancelled. 40 min easy
Su: 12 mi @ 6:35 pace. Felt really good, disappointed I didn't get to race. It now looks like my first race will be on the 20th. Crappy lifting session later in day though, my legs felt weird as I had to skip to lifting days in a row. Will probably cut down to 2 days a week.
Tuesday workout:
2 mile WU
1K at 5K pace (3:16)
2.5 min jog rest
6x400 w/ 70sec rest at stretch goal 3200 pace (71, 70, 71, 75 on a rep where I miscounted, 72, 72)
1K at 5K pace (3:15)
2.5 min jog rest
2x200 fast w/ 200m jog rest (32, 33, no speed here)
2-ish mile CD
Meh week. Pretty good workout on Tuesday, but Thursday was just a wreck. Dual meet this Thursday, will run the 3200 semi-hard (10:00 to 10:20 range) and keep you all posted.
Comments coming later.
Had a decent week and had one of my best workouts this season so far I think.
Mon: 2 E + 1 I + 1 800 R + 1 I + 2 E 5:19, 5:31, 2:44 - Felt awful during this entire workout and nowhere near what I wanted to hit.
Tues: 10 easy @ 7:24 pace
Wed: 1.5 E + 4x (4x 200s w/ 50sec, -5 sec recovery after each set) w/ 2.5min + 2 E, - One of my favorite workouts of all time for track and was hitting solid 35s then all the way down to 29 and 30s. Felt really strong.
Thurs: 5.1 easy @ 8:37 pace, ran with the team
Fri: 3 easy @ 7:18 pace
Saturady: 2 E + 4x 400 R w/ 400jg + 3x 1 T w/ 1min + 4x 200 R w/ 200jg + 2 E - Had another awesome workout this week and felt really strong throughout the entire thing, especially the 200s at the end. Miles in the middle were 5:45, 5:43, and 5:39.
Sunday: 10 E @ 7:16 pace
Total: 50.1 mi
Overall had a pretty good week with two solid workouts that I can tell helped me a lot. Racing the 1 mile this Saturday and trying to beat my PR of 4:53, so we will see what happens.

Good luck in your 3200, your workout on Tuesday looked awesome so hopefully you'll kill it at your 32.
Had a solid week, still slightly under my full mileage just because of the meet.
Monday: 5 miles @7:05
Tuesday: Meet, ran 4x8 and 3200, will talk about the races at the end
Wednesday: 7 miles easy @7:10
Thursday:
1 mile easy
6x800 w/ 400m jog in between (1:55-2:00 rest)
Finish easy to 8 miles
800s in 2:28, 2:27, 2:27, 2:26, 2:27, 2:26
Friday: 5 miles @7:15
Saturday
1 mile easy
2 sets of:
2x1200 @tempo (5:25-30 mile pace)
4x200 @33
200 rest after 1st 1200 of each set and all 200s, 400 rest after 2nd 1200 of each set
Finish easy to 8 miles
Sunday: 12miles @7:05
Tuesdays races:
4x8: ran 2:07, not going all out. We went through the first 400 in 60 and it felt like nothing, but at the 450 mark the guy I was drafting off almost came to a stop, it was really bizarre. I completely lost concentration and ran the last 300 completely out of it, had I actually kicked with 200-250 left I probably would have ran 2:04-2:05 and had we no come so close to stopping I, who knows what I could have ran...
3200: I was most happy with this run. I soloed 9:45, in some fairlwindy conditions. The next closest guy to me was 10:10 and I dropped them within the first 300. 9:45 is my official 3200 PR, but my 9:01 3k this year indoors converts to 9:40 so a little faster. None the less, I was pumped with a 9:45 and I definitely wasn't even going all out. Opened up the first 200 in 32, settled in at a comfy 4:55-5:00 after that. 69 first 400, 71 last 400 (still not too hard) and the in betweens were around 74-75 per lap. Can't wait to see what I can do in a fast 3200 if a 9:45 feels fairly easy

Obviously it's over, but the way the thread is run, we post our training from the previous week. So for example, the training that we do this week will then be posted next week, this way, we are able to give the accurate workout paces and/or race times. It would be kind of hard to post a week's training/races if you haven't actually done the workout or run the race lol
