Recently Kamworor stated that he believes he definitely can break the Half WR and with time he will plan. Sources found out that Hermens&Co ar planning for Kam to run some DL events before running NY in November. However, they would be very very tempted to enter the Copenhagen HM in September, 7 weeks before, to try and break the WR!! I think it's very much game on, Tadese has it on borrowed time now.
Oh baby it's on, Kamworor has his eyes on the Half WR !!

Nope. Kam has zero chance at getting that record. Zero. -

You must be trolling. If he prepares right and goes for it only bad weather can disrupt his attempt. -
He won't make it. Tadese's 58:23 is arguably the strongest road race record on the book (based off Jack Daniels's VDOT table, it's worth 84.1 VDOT)

It’s not that strong. Many went sub 59, RIP Wanjiru ran 58:33. The problem with this distance is that the best runners focus on the marathon and not on the half. -
I believe that if someone can run sub 58 they have a good chance to convert to a sub 2hr marathon. Without that buffer then no chance in a normal marathon.

Kam wants to break the Half WR and also is trying the DL to see where he has a better chance for Gold in Tokyo(5-10k or Marathon). After Tokyo it will be only the Marathon for him. I believe in a race with even pacing and perfect weather, with him in Cardiff/Valencia shape he can go 57:xx. As for the marathon, if he translates his beautiful form and economy to the marathon too, which i think he can, i see a 2:01 in him one day, 2021-22. He won't even be 30 by then, ridiculous. -

This. I think you are either clueless or trolling if you think Kam doesn't have a very real shot to destroy that record. -

I think Kipchoge could have taken it down if he really wanted to. But always had his focus on the marathon. Kamworor has even more raw speed than Kipchoge had, i see the WR gone by this time next year. Either in Copenhagen(sept) or Ras Al Khaimah(next feb). -
A doped record being replaced by another doped record? Yawn. Clean WR performance held by the Japanese.

Kam has no chance. No race he has run indicates he's on par with the greats.

That's the 10k. What about the Half? 58:54 Ras at the age of 20? 59:10 Cardiff, no pacers, fell at the start, rainy, slippery and windy? 13:01 15-20 split, 12:59 16-21 split in Valencia? Which of those indicates he isn't with the greats? -

58:23- "its not that strong"
Hahahahaha! Only at letsrun. -
Kipchoge is the 4th all time i the 5000m. Also has run 7:27 in the 3000m I believe. Kam can run near that but to argue that he has better raw speed (what is that even supposed to mean? In a 40m race from the blocks?) seems too stretched.
58:15 or so is in the cards for sure. -

I meant right now, Kam has better 5k, 10k, Half Speed + Sprint Finish than Eliud. He lacks his endurance for the Marathon, but on any distance from Half and lower Kam would win, no contest. -

Just so you know, that's a pretty racist statement. That's not me being PC either. That's just blatant racism to categorize these guys as dopers without any evidence besides perhaps the fact that they are Kenyan and fast, and that all Japanese runners are somehow not doping, because they are Japanese. -

I don’t think I saw anything here, but niticed after the world indoors, Yomif Kejelcha statedhe wants the 5,000m wr in the next year. Anyone think thats possible for him right now? -
He has a chance at the INDOOR 5000m records right now lol.

Isn’t that still a 12:49?
Either way, interesting that he has that as a goal...haven’t heard anyone even say they are going after the record in some time -
