BYU keeps the lead. Now 6 to 6, but BYU has a faster 7th at 14:01
It also doesn't look like Lomong will be able to go sub 14 (he ran a very slow 10000m)
The season is pretty much over
Therefore BYU now has the record. Six sub 14 with the 7th at 14:01. What this means is that a 14:01, 8:43 steeple guy (Heslington is presently ranked 9th in the NCAA in the steeple and could finish the season ranked even higher) was not good enough to be on their XC team (top 7), given that BYU's top finisher at NCAA XC did not run this spring.
Heslington would have been the #1 XC runner of the vast majority of NCAA schools.
Unless someone can come up with proof of a school having 7 (or more) sub 14 guys in a single season, than BYU has the record
This record could go down next year.
