Will this be Bernard Lagat's final national team appearance? Can he get Haile Gebrselassie's world master's record?

But 1908 was where 26.2 was set. It is really dumb to stick with that distance--it is odd, and the basis is poor.

#cleansport knows exactly how it is done. He has proven it himself. Lagat has allowed himself to be tested THOUSANDS of times over the last 20 YEARS. That is unlike #cleansport who won't allow a tester anywhere near them.

Do you really think the testing makes you clean? What planet do you live on? Some good people walked away from organizations (USATF, IAAF) because of this problem. It's just sad the fans will never know the truth as they might think being tested proves no PED's. I only hope more people are honest about what they know and what they have seen.

It's common knowledge he cheated. No shock value in that. Elites know it and talked openly about it.

Much to the embarrassment of his pals in the video. Did Torrence do the testing, or intentionally taint one sample while failing to taint the second one identically? Now, you seem to claim that anyone who thinks someone cheated is always correct? Sure thing.

The US is pretty damn good at the half-marathon and he's on the team at 43.

He ran 62:00 at Houston this year and the 40+ world record is 61:01 by Haile Gebrselassie. Lagat would have run faster in Houston than his 62:00 if he hadn't gone out so hard. He went out with leaders (60:00 was the winner).

With some better pacing he could challenge the master's WR this weekend.

I don't know whether Lagat was doping but your account of events seems to suggest that an enzyme was taken to degrade/modify EPO in the test.

Geb would have easily broken 60 in early 40s but mistakenly insisted on running marathons. In those, he did well through about the half but then would fade.

Lagat lied about his citizenship status in 2004 so he could compete in Athens. It's troubling hearing him talk about being proud to make national teams and represent the US when it's clear his naturalization was an opportunistic move. He's a weasel with a shlt-eating grin.

I am not interested in defending Lagat, but why should I believe whatever David Torrence said about Lagat? The great minds here at LR have taught me to presume that Torrence was a cheat too.

The only people who think that the botched positive A sample proved Lagat was a doper struggled to get a C in high school biology and believe that "metabolic" is an Italian word for somebody who eats too many meatballs.

i expect that bernie will try very hard to break the record. weather is fine. he is the man to make it happen.

im always back and forth on drugs in sports. i guess im a black or white on issue. either let them all cheat or no one cheat. not a big fan of covering up the slip ups of the stars. I still like Lance Armstrong, so I can't really hate anyone else that is suspect.
