There was a legally blind teenager and a masters runner in Centro’s 1500m.
Not even a joke.
The blind kid, Jaryd Clifford, set a world record for his classification, as did Michael Roeger, who finished right behind Jaryd.
To give some perspective, Jaryd finished 6 seconds behind Mac Fleet.
The legally blind teenager had just won the National Junior title in 3.49. He backed up with a 3.45 to get a World Juniors qualifier, also a T12 WR. He often competes unaided. He is a very impressive young man.
