Training is the focus for any serious athlete, professional or not.
As for "mediocre racing" - if you're calling two 4th place finishes (10,000m) and two 6th place finishes (marathon) at the Olympic trials mediocre, what are you calling the rest of the country?
While you're in your mum's basement writing this nonsense, these people are working hard, running fast, and making a name for themselves. Perhaps take a leaf from their book - focus less on hating on others and more on developing your own skills.
