Thinking about going for a family vacation to Japan. I know that in general, the Japanese are very friendly and forgiving to foreigners visiting their country.
However, it recently came to my attention that they visciously shame obese people (they even have a law stating that it's illegal to become overweight). I fear that my daughter, who weighs about 25 stones, will be ridiculed.
Anyone willing to share their experiences as an overweight traveller to Japan?
No, you don't have to worry about that. People are nice and polite and they won't bother you in any ways.
I have traveled with overweight coworkers and they were treated fine.

Fat-shaming does happen but it will be done in Japanese meaning if you don't understand N-go you won't be insulted. There may be occasional comments but not outright harassment. "Gaijin..dakara..bakani shite iru..." etc.
Very safe, easy to get around. If daughter gets lost at night in Tokyo, nothing bad will happen to her. Unlike almost every other large city in the world...

Register in a language school, to learn Japanese, and that is the best way to stay long term, and cheaply.

Virtually everyone is Japanese. In shops, trains, Tokyo underground, hotel workers, everywhere. The non Japanese I saw were whites who were tourists and they were mostly couples who looked classy and respectful. They don't allow immigrants. Simple as that.

Wrong. For example, there has been a significant migration of Brazilians of Japanese descent to Japan. I saw plenty of them in Hamamatsu.
I was there over New Years. Stayed in Tokyo. Great city and not really that expensive if you are willing to be in a budget hotel. Even though our room were bigger than standard Japanese hotel rooms and modeled as a "western" feel, it was still small. You can get very good food there for cheap prices (I had 15 plates of sushi for under $15). Pay $100 for a Passmo or Suica card and you won't have to ever worry about a rental car, so that immediately saves a lot. Cleanest place I have ever been to. Lots of pedestrian traffic. They do a great job of preserving the country's history and natural beauty while still being extremely modern/technologically advanced. I even had the opportunity to watch the Hakone Ekiden in person which was very cool. Couldn't recommend the place enough. Outstanding country to visit.
As far as being shamed for being fat? Honestly, the Japanese are polite to foreigners because they are polite in general. Sometimes it may not be sincere and may be simply from being conditioned to be that way, but you will never know the difference. They keep to themselves most of the time and really don't care about you on bit (no offense, just the way it is).

Lots of Chinese, Koreans, Thais, Vietnamese, Filipinos, etc. live in Japan. Many of the current top leaders in the CPC Chinese Communist Party were heavily indoctrinated and brainwashed by Japanese Universities including one of the most powerful men in China today, current Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
Japan is one amazing radical out-of-this-world experience. The most unique and well preserved ancient culture, society, and government in the world. Tourism is huge now in Japan. Korea, China, Taiwan, India, Vietnam, Brazil, Iran, Russia, US, Germany, France, Sweden, Italy, Mexico, and Cuba are hugely into Japan for holiday. The most uniquely cool thing is Japan government in the oldest in exisitence going back 2,500 years. The current government is headed by the 126th Emperor from the same family, something you might hear legends about in Africa, or South America, in Japan they can prove it scientifically.
They won't fat shame your daughter, but they will kill a tired, repetitive troll on sight. Asking No Questions! Be Wary!
