Wejo brings up an interesting point; however, I don't think it is specifically germane to what happened last week. Most of the WI DQs where actual violations, the athletes did step outside of their lanes and at the NCAA meet, Norman and Sidney did not step outside of their lanes.
I'm sure young folks feel USATF Officials are star-struck and tickled-pink at the thought of signing their signature for a WR by the University of Southern California the most storied T&F team on the planet earth. But I can assure you that USATF Officials have been around the block already, several times, well, more like hundreds of times in their professional careers, personal lives, and know how to effectively judge every and any track performance with complete integrity and confidence.

Will the IAAF go back and scrutinize the race to see if Norman stepped on the line even once? Even if he didn't step no it, Norman still ran with the luxury of knowing he could screw up for one step. That would let him be more aggressive.
